Why does this government need to sell of Australian owned Assets? They keep bleating about how well off we are since they took over? But have they bothered to ask the person in the street. You bet they didn't? Why should we put up with privatisation?Things get dearer, commission for the companies go up,the mug in the street gets poorer service at higher cost!If this Government has done so well,Why is their still waiting lists to get in to Hospital or Public Dentist. Not all of us are fortunate enough to be able to afford all the rising costs. Some areas of health there is no service left at all.So why do this government need the extra money? For what? Or have they got another American based consortium looking to take over another Aussie Icon.Stop the rot before it sets in.

Rojo,
Actually the Snowy sale was sunk because - despite his early advice, Howard could not just sign it away and let the State governments take the rap.

He was advised that it would have had to be debated in Parliament first so it was dropped like the hot potato it was.

Any suggestion that it was because of adverse public opinion was only political spin.
