Hi fellow OLOers,

Just a heads up if I may.

It is just a little thing but if you are posting a link in a forum post you need to be aware that if it is from a place like Youtube you will see an 's' after the http of the URL and it is a sign that it is from a secure site;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgF8u8va7wI

You will notice though this is not a link that can be clicked within the post. The reader who wants to go to that site will need to copy and paste it to the URL bar.

But note if we remove the 's' the link becomes active.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgF8u8va7wI

The alternative for Youtube of course is to post the link you will find under 'Share'. In this case it is;

http://youtu.be/pgF8u8va7wI

However there are other links being posted where that is not available so removing the 's' is good net etiquette and makes the reader more likely to view the page.

It may well be that Graham's tech guy might be able include 'https' as recognisable link in the future but until then try and remember to tweek before you post.

Yep-Old Noam (or Norm LOL as Paul more fittingly dubs him!)would fit in well with the Greens.

SPUD, regardless of the spelling, Noam although talking about the US makes a lot of points that are relevant to Australia as well. I take it you being a believer in neoliberalism, and a rabid right winger, would see the bloke as a raving commie.
p/s Good if you watched the clip rather than just reading the name at the beginning. What ever turns you on SPUD.

Dear SPQR,

Really?

Most people would view your post as pretty darn snide, petty and childish. Why don't you?

Hi Steele,

<<Most people would view your post as pretty darn snide, petty and childish. Why don't you?>>

I'd hazzard a guess that most people think many of your crusades are pretty purile but that doesnt deter you --though I do think your analysis of Austpost was quite well done --WHAT DID YOU SAY WAS YOUR DAY JOB?

But my highlighting the Norm-Noam slip had a deeper significance than just hahaha you got it wrong (God knows I make more mistakes than most!)

In some quarters calling someone a "Norm" indicates someones something akin to a bogan --and we know how paritial the Greens are to bogans. So for Paul to rechristen(Lefty)Noam, Norm had some amusing qualities--leastways I thought so.

Cheers

WHAT WAS YOUR DAY JOB AGAIN?
