It's true, she is on a ton...I predict she'll get her century on the next sitting day.

In the end, it's all about respect.

Right from the start Bishop displayed "extreme" partisanship.

I've watched her in her role a fair bit. She's referred to Labor members as slow learners. She allows the govt things that she jumps on with the Opposition. She actually warns Labor members "before" they make their points of order..and lately she dismisses points of order before they've been spoken. Yesterday she did that and when Tony Burke questioned her on how she knew what his point of order was, she said she "anticipated what it would be"...then she dismissed it.

She regularly messes up titles and procedure.

The only thing she doesn't do is throw dusters at the Opp...chucks 'em out with gay abandon instead.

So, now she has no respect and QT is a farce.

From my perspective, she hasn't earned respect, and what respect she started with in such a role...has dwindled away to nothing.

Yes it is a shambles. She was not suitable in the first place. Lord Tony gave her the role to get rid of another female. Will Abbott survive the six week break. He has gone over the heads of his own party by putting us back to the 1800's. I bet Turnbull knew nothing about his wisdom .

I watched the last sitting of Parliament and witnessed
the Speaker - Bronwyn Bishop's disgraceful behaviour.
As many people have pointed out in letters to both
her and the media,
Her obvious bias "is a shameful affront to the dignity
of the Australian Parliamentary process". One reader
wrote that "Sitting there in smirking compliance to
the LNP is conduct entirely inappropriate for a Speaker."
Bronwyn Bishop does seem to not understand that she's
no longer a toadying backbencher. When she assumed the
privileged seat of Speaker it became her duty to fairly
and impartially represent all Australians. Therefore
when she dismisses and silences the opposition she's also
dismissing and silencing the millions of Australians
they've been elected to represent. The current government
does have the numbers in the House to keep this woman in
her job - but they should seriously re-consider her
appointment. The damage that woman is causing both to
the reputation of the current government and their
reputation in the community - but also to the dignity of
the Australian Parliamentary process - which under that
Speaker has become a total sham.
She's got to go!
