Labor's shocking behaviour in parliament has been leading up to this. The loud interjections, the raucous fake laughter, and the out of order shouting at the speaker that I have heard whenever I have watched a coalition member speak is what has resulted in the delinquents being ejected.
Even though Burke had his speech written months ago, it has taken that long before he could find something that was marginal enough to read it. As Poirot admits, labor's speakers were biased, but they never had to deal with such louts. Posted by Shadow Minister, Sunday, 30 March 2014 11:26:53 AM

Yeah, sure, SM
Considering Burke "had his speech written months ago" why did it contain oodles of fresh examples of Bronnie's bias! Do you believe a Speaker should dismiss points of order before they've been spoken? Is that Parliamentary procedure? Her days as Speaker are numbered, she can't straddle the line that requires the person in the role to show some impartiality. Next.... Posted by Poirot, Sunday, 30 March 2014 11:36:52 AM

Paul, Foxy,
Here's the irrepressible Cathy Wilcox getting it right on Tone's Knights and Dames: http://www.smh.com.au/photogallery/federal-politics/cartoons/cathy-wilcox-20090909-fhd6.html Lol! Posted by Poirot, Sunday, 30 March 2014 11:50:53 AM

Dear Poirot,
Thanks for that. I needed a good laugh. Actually I've been giggling all morning. I watched the "Insiders" this morning and apparently cartoonists have had a field day with our PM. His latest "no surprises," act has been a gift that will keep on giving for quite some time yet. The same goes for the Speaker's stone-faced performance on the last day before the Parliamentary break. And of course there was also the Attorney General's remark on bigotry that caued quite a stir (and more cartoons). These events will go down in history. No surprises, that was another loose tongue event. England knows all about it, as i was informed last knight.
Surely they can't let it go unnoticed, and just let the comedy continue. On the backfoot over Sri Lanka, enough to keep us in the news for quite some time. Posted by 579, Sunday, 30 March 2014 1:21:15 PM

The latest from our magnificent PM on the duties of GG.
"As Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Lynne travel the length and breadth of our country, visiting all the places that aren’t important enough for Prime Ministers, you will affirm these two fundamental Australian characteristics: to give a fair go to others and to have a fair go yourself."

That's ... "....visiting all the places that aren’t important enough for Prime Ministers..."
So in one sentence he insults Australians and the GG (he's getting better)
What a joke this guys is.
