You badly misjudge me, I've never shot any of them and it fact wouldn't consider eating them.

I've tried roo. If it didn't taste so dry and chewy I'd be doing it more often.

The way I see it, we eat pigs, which are supposed to be as intelligent, if not more, than dogs. If I'm willing to eat pig, I've got no qualms about tucking into roo (aside from the taste).

Then it wasn't cooked properly.
The way to do a leg of 'roo is to cut the meat across the grain, right to the bone. Marinate using a good wine base, slow oven for 3 hrs or so and it will melt in the mouth (well, maybe a bit of a chew) and the flavour is really good. Recommend it.

I did expect a few more in depth philosophical posts however.
