Both are true.
Penny Wong is the Parliament's 'Penguin'. Looks the part and waddles about in the dark pin-striped suit, but she simply cannot fly. She could talk under water with her mouth full of marbles. But none of it means anything. Throws more profiles than Jana Wendt ever did. Wong is a lightweight. Just another ex-student rep the union heavies reckon can dance to their tune. She recently ditched Julia Whatshername to go with Rudd. So much for her courage and commitment. Penny and numbers don't appear to get along. Posted by onthebeach, Sunday, 11 August 2013 7:46:50 PM

Yes OTB Wong has no substance, but you can't blame her for being a self serving politician, it comes with the territory.
Wongs only attribute for a political life is the ability to look stoney faced and credible as she mouths others words, others lies become her lies….as example: Wong was addressing the first national forum on coasts and climate change in Adelaide and promulgating that global temperatures are fast rising and sea levels, as a consequence, will rise by a meter this century. This just after Professor Phil Jones, one of the world’s key alarmist climate scientists, admitted to the BBC that there has been no statistically significant rise in global temps for 15 years. Wong is a politically correct token joke. Posted by sonofgloin, Monday, 12 August 2013 6:40:04 PM

No wonder Rudd wants same sex marriage. That way he gets to keep the Lesbian Ladyboy on side. I thought he was supposed to be a Christian. My reading of the Bible is that such sins of the flesh were and are an abomination. How does he sleep at night.

I would suggest it's yet another labor case of, what ever it takes to win office.
It will be like introducing a dog, into a cat fight, if Rudd ends up winning and teams up with Bob Katter, as he openly despises the thought of gay marriage. In fact, he won't even entertain any questions about the topic, saying quite clearly, it's not on his radar. Here here I say! Posted by rehctub, Tuesday, 13 August 2013 1:13:43 PM

chrisgaff1000, "I thought he was supposed to be a Christian"
Rudd is one of those people who make their church going obvious. He was reported as going to church before the leaders' debate. Previously as PM he was forever conducting media interviews and taking photo opportunities outside churches, in Canberra in particular. See here, http://media.canberratimes.com.au/news/national-news/rudd-plays-down-leadership-4006787.html Actually that is a good example too of Kevin Rudd talking about the economy. Surprisingly (or maybe not) the Christian-hating lefties are always silent on Rudd promoting himself as a regular church goer, or that he says he gains solace from it. onthebeach,
How can you be a Christian on one hand and a supporter of bible listed abominations (homosexuality etc.) It's a bit like the Pope supporting the pill. Sorry for mine he's out Posted by chrisgaff1000, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 7:30:55 PM

Who is Kevin Rudd and what does he stand for? Plainly the public front is different to what is behind.
James Button, who was the Europe correspondent for The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald, had this to say, "The truth is, Rudd was impossible to work with. He regularly treated his staff, public servants and backbenchers with rudeness and contempt. He could be vindictive, intervening to deny people appointments or preselections, sometimes based on grudges going back years. He made crushing demands on his staff, and when they laboured through the night to meet those demands, they received no thanks, and often the work was not used. People who dared to stand up to him were put in "the freezer" and not consulted or spoken to for months. His staff's prodigious loyalty was mostly not repaid. He put people down behind their backs. He seemed to feel that everyone was always letting him down. In meetings, as I saw, he could emanate a kind of icy rage that was as mysterious as it was disturbing. He governed by, and seemed almost to thrive on, crisis. Important papers went unsigned; staff and public servants would be pulled onto flights, in at least one case halfway around the world, on the off-chance that he needed to consult them. Vital decisions were held up while he struggled to make up his mind, frequently demanding more pieces of information that merely delayed the final result. The fate of the government seemed to hinge on the psychology of one man. As I watched this unfold in Canberra, I tried hard to put aside my poor experience of working for Rudd. I had been a journalist for more than 20 years and knew that just because three people complain about something or someone does not make it true. When 30 or more witnesses complain, you can start to believe it." https://www.google.com.au/search?q=james+button&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb&gws_rd=cr Posted by onthebeach, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 8:07:05 PM

What about 'supposed to be a christian' Abbott. He wasted months in Parliament attacking Slipper when Ashby as a competent adult could well look after himself. Contrast this to Abbott not raising a murmur when thousands of young children were being sexually assaulted over decades. He had to have the implied consent of Pell before he gave support to the commission of enquiry. Do we want a leader who needs to have permission from the leader of another State before making decisions affecting the Australian people.

Abbott cannot manage his own Parliamentary expense account let alone the Nation's accounts.

Someone to say, "great idea minister, but we simply can't afford it".
Given their deficit has gone from some 8 billion, to 33 billion, in about ten weeks, I would suggest that Dr No, Penny Wong either said, great idea, but we can't afford it, and was ignored, or, she approved of the blow out, or, she was asleep at the wheel.
Now if she was ignored, then that would suggest the old heavy handed Kevin is back.
Or, if she approved of the waste, ome would have ask why, or, if she was asleep at the wheel, it would suggest that she is a very poor Dr No.
Which one was it!
