Belly,
You're guilty of spreading one of the biggest lies & that is to say that the ALP is about truth.
If you really are a decent person than then you'd better start looking around for some home truths. To say that Nelson's reply was anything but factual is a lie in itself. Please tell what was so bad in that reply. Of course many want to discredit it because many don't like the truth. You sound like you're one of them. There's truth & there is fact & the fact is that Nelson did speak truthfully. The other fact is that Rudd simply made a reply that he knew is is not as factual as the real truth because he needed a speech to make him look good in the minds of those who are confused about integrity.

You gotta laugh.
Just look at the payback to Rob Oakshot and his mate, both ex National seat holders for? a trumped up charge as independents they betrayed their base.
Slipper heard of him.
Member of both conservative party,s and of long standing .
Easy to find reason to question others.
Impossible for some to look behind them selves.

The Indonesian coastline is many thousand of KM"S long . These people are not going to fill a boat from the same place twice. They do not use ports. If one gets intercepted it is luck, as these boats are timber it is very hard for radar to pick them up. It's up to airoplanes, and line of sight to know where they are.
How many boats we got, against the length of the Indonesian coast.
Some make a B line for xmas isl and some follow the coast south.
It is not that easy as Tony would have you believe. In Howards day only two boats were taken back to Indonesia, that caused so much trouble they abandoned that idea.

doog,
that's not what the crews of Customs & Navy say. They say they're not permitted to act by their supers who take orders from their superiors who take orders from the bureaucrats with stars & stripes & all sorts of other paraphernalia.
These crews have the will, the equipment & the expertise but they're held at bay by some crap-scared public servants.
