"This Is What Winning Looks Like" is a disturbing new documentary about the ineptitude, drug abuse, sexual misconduct, and corruption of the Afghan security forces as well as the reduced role of US Marines due to the troop withdrawal".

The really sad thing is that when all of the invading armies have withdrawn/been kicked out, it will all revert back to the stone age again.
Various pollies such as the bloke in the cape and funny hat will scuttle off to Switzerland to count their loot and all the death and destruction will have been for nothing except to inflate the ego's of Bush, Howard and Blair.
Just think what could have been done with all of the money it has cost. Homeless in the US, Australia, UK could have been rehoused. The health system would have had money to keep it running and children would have a good education and not leave school unable to read.
Just so much difference could have been made to the world.
And Gillard still keeps on saying "we will see the job through". We are never told what the job is though.

If we all withdraw from Afghanistan we can then stand back from afar and fire our remote guided missiles from remote controlled drones and kill what ever gets in front of the camera.
Just think about it. Bourbon soaked lounge lizards playing war games for real on the big screen with no risk to the home team at all now that's real sport.

Afganistan economy will again revert to growing drugs to sell to Western children to destroy their lives and minds.

The odd thing is that while the Taliban were in control there, they stopped the production of poppies and the heroin supply was cut right back.
It only increased after the US and the rest invaded and gave Afghanistan "freedom".

Can't anyone else see it. The real reason we are withdrawing troops is because the cost of fighting a war by drone is far less that using human soldiers and massive logisti9cal resources.

Robert Le Page,
Yes that's true, as reported in the film the Taliban were seen by the people of the south as much better governors than the northern Warlords, they were harsh but fair and they didn't rob, rape, murder and kidnap the poor people willy nilly like those clowns shown in the film. There's another similar doco about Somalia which I can't find online as yet, when the Al Shabbab fundamentalists take over an area they set up aid stations with what little resources they have and sharia courts to deal with the crime and corruption right off the bat, it's no picnic for the locals but it's better than being robbed, raped and randomly shot at by stoned Ethiopian or government troops.

Its over 10 years since America and its submissive allies including its little buddy Australia invaded Afghanistan. The invasion was supposedly to enact regime change, removing the pro Al Qaeda, Talaban, and replace it with a compliant government in Kabul, all the while installing peace and democracy in the failed state.
What have we achieved in Afghanistan, absolutely nothing, except the deaths of 40 Australians and countless Afghans. Now, like America, we are trying to extricate ourselves from another very messy American war.
Where is the supposed democracy and freedom the Americans promised to bring to the people of the failed state of Afghanistan, unfortunately nowhere to be seen.
10 years down the track, here is an account of the failed state of Afghanistan today;

There are two opposeing ideologies here. One believes in personal freedom and rule of moral cnscience and the other in the enforcement of shari'ah. Shari'ah is based in offences that shame Allah his laws and his prophet; all resulting in dire punishments. The freedoms of expression by western minds about Mohamed is anathma to the Taliban.

The only change is brought about by a religious conversion to Judeao-Christian morality. We today have grown up in that value system that gives us personal freedom, so it is hard to understand why they cannot see its benifits. Western Christian moral education offers the only hope of them understanding the Western mind. While they are of the Muslim brotherhood they will be persecuted by the extremists.

However to convert also means death in shari'ah. Their children from the age of six are taught that the highest goal to reach is martodom in the name of Allah.
