I don't know that the Indos would have that much political leverage to gain from attempting to cause problems by forwarding on illegals, it actually facilitates effusive and expansive liberalism in this country.
People smuggling doesn't strike me as being hugely profitable either, we're seeing about 500 arrive each week right? So depending on the going rate that's about half to three quarters of a million bucks a week and you'd have to say there'd be a lot of palms the grease with the standard practice of bigger shares going to cops, immigration and soldiers. Standover would also be rampant, the stronger but lazier gangs would want a cut from the smugglers, there could be dozens or even hundreds of hands out every time a boat comes over.

Philip, I have done a lot of cases for refugees who came into Australia via Indonesia. The answer to your question is, they enter Indonesia illegally.

The commonest route is to fly into Malaysia, which readily grants visas to citizens of Muslim countries, no problem. Usually they already have a contact in Malaysia whose commission it is to get them to Indonesia. If they don't already have an agent, they go to mosque and ask around, and you would be surprised at the number of people all over Asia who materialise out of nowhere to help our hapless asylum-seekers wend their way a little further south to our fair isle - for a consideration. The agent takes them by car through the jungle where at night they board boats which then take them into Indonesia. The whole thing is done secretly. They put them up at houses and supply food and water, and tell them not to go out or talk to anyone.

In Indonesia, if they already have an agent, they wait until a boat departs. If they don't have an agent in Indonesia, they go to mosque and ask around. From there it is a snap to find directions to an agent who will help 'em get on a boat to Australia.

Phillip, not many hands to be paid off.
The police organise the transport in Indonesia and deliver the illegals to the boat owners.
At the rate they are going the price of the boats must be going up as
all the wrecks have been used.

Phillip S,
Have you ever seen a "refugee" standing at an intersection with a squeegee washing windscreens? The only people who do that down our way are White guys down on their luck, in 25 years in this city I've only ever seen White or Aboriginal beggars and street prostitutes.

There is a sickness of the mind among the Anglo Saxon elites called xenophilia and another illness called pathological altruism, they'll help SOME poor Aboriginals and Whites, the less icky and truculent ones but they genuinely despise their own kind and their countrymen.
The reason they condone this inequality and tolerate the failure of the state to prioritise the secure existence of the founding ethnic groups is that they regard the decisions and choices made by non Whites as being fundamentally correct in all cases and the decisions made by Whites as fundamentally wrong on every level.

"another illness called pathological altruism"

No, pathological altruism is when you you use your own money, not money taken by the State from someone else. These people are just pathological posers, not altruists!

Jardine K. Jardine - It would appear that Australia and Indonesia have to get tough with Malaysia and get them to stop letting in people knowing full well they are not going to return home but are heading to Indonesia then Australia.

It would be common knowledge that the Indonesian officials are complicit in some way as it would be impossible to congregate 100's of foreigners in one place without coming to the attention of the police.

Jay Of Melbourne - the refugees don't need to beg the charities will give them what they want, only problem is the final bill is paid by the Australian taxpayers.

The costs just keep multiplying apparently a boat was intercepted near the Ashmore Islands with 84 people on board 25 of them had to be airlifted to Australia with more than a dozen of them in need of medical treatment. Just what we need we have welfare for lifers now we are potentially getting medical patients for life.

If you are an Australian citizen in need of medical attention while overseas the Australian Government would not charter a plane for you as it does for the refugees.
