Can anyone really be this stupid, after moving a group of 34 (YES THAT is 34 only) to Manus Island an immigration spokesman said - "The completion of this transfer reaffirms the strong message of deterrence for anyone considering risking their lives on dangerous people smuggling boats," (This moron probable believes his bul*@#*!)

This is after them releasing hundreds into the community last week and before that saying they would have to release thousands into the community.

SCORE Smuggler 9,500 plus Government around 400 returned.

This debarcle is likely to cost us more than any war we have been involved in (in monetary terms) and the invaders don't even have guns.

At a time when we are being threatened with increased taxes, as well as witnessing the slashing of many tax payer provided benefits, benefits WE HAVE PAID FOR this illegals debacle continues to fester, as THIS GOVERNMENT has lost control.

They opened the flood gates in 08, then spent the next three odd years playing the blame game, then, once they finally implemented some of the coalitions policies, it has AS PREDICTED been a case of too little too late, meanwhile the blame game continues.

If for no other reason than this illegals debacle, This government should be sacked.

There is now only one solution to this in my view, and that's force, because even if we adopted the Malaysia solution, it would be finically crippling as we simply don't have the revenue to support that many free loaders.

I think most can see it, but no one wants to go there.

rechtub>> I think most can see it, but no one wants to go there.<<

I see it Butch, I will go there. The following is an abridged post I submitted this week on another thread:

"I just returned from a business trip to far western NSW.
I was sitting in the town’s only pub.
Nightly news had an item about the economic refugees and the cost.
Blokes in the bar voiced their disgust at the poor policy brought about this illegal cash strapping flow.
I commented that the change of government next year will help.
Immediately the focus shifted from the illegal’s to Tony Abbott. “Can’t stand Abbott,” was the sentiment and no amount of logic could move them."

They would cut off their nose to spite their face....imbeciles of course, but imbeciles that sadly vote.

PS.

These same imbeciles more than likely would not bother voting if it was not compulsory.

Paul1405 - Will you still be laughing if the projected figure of 30,000 refugees over the next year arrive?

Imagine the cuts in services etc and raised tax's that will occur to accommodate you beloved welfare for lifers.

When is illegal not illegal? It would appear that our Government can choose the difference whenever it sees fit to do so.

It is my comprehension that illegal means breaking a law and if one is caught breaking the law he/she will be subjected to the full consequences for the crime unless proven innocent in a proper convened court to decide the case.

Illegal entry to any country throughout the world is a criminal offence so the boat people whom elect to risk breaking Australia's border control laws should face deportation back to where they came from as soon as they are intercepted regardless as to their reason/s.

There are correct legal/lawful criteria rules, regulations and laws for immigration and anyone wishing to migrate to Australia must follow the correct legal protocol to do so.

If I was caught in a situation of aid and abet a crime I would be charged for the offence and risk imprisonment.

As I see it the actual criminals are;
(1) The People smugglers (illegally transporting people for profit),
(2) The illegal refugees (illegally entering Australia in breach of
border protection laws
(3) The Government for aiding and abetting in both the crimes of the
People smugglers and the illegal boat people refugees.

It is a well documented fact that millions, if not trillions of dollars of Australian Tax payer dollars are being used to support this illegal/unlawful practice by our Government.

Any refugee or person who is caught entering Australia illegally/unlawfully should and must be deported and banned from any future application. Then and only then would it act as a deterent.

gypsy - Regrettably because this Government for whatever reason stands by a 50+ year old OUTDATED UN convention on refugees and insists our navy go hundreds of KM's into Indonesian water to bring them to Australia, while we have Labor we have a huge problem now and even bigger problems in the future.

Remember Indonesia could not even find a ship 15KM out to sea from one of the main ports yet we went 370KM to find it.

Belly>> It took an extraordinary name calling from you, to bring me to this lost thread.<<

We have been down this track before Belly.
The last time and the time before that I qualified the “imbecile” descriptive with this:
Oxford Dictionary…Imbecile; person of weak intellect.

Belly the same blokes that bleated on about the cost to the nation of the boat people, and the social change that Middle Easterners have made to the society they grew up in, then said they would not vote for Abbott regardless of his policy of going back to PPV’s. I explained that PPV’s took a load of the illegals current rights away and really gives illegal aliens no assurance of entering Australia.

They didn’t care, they hate Abbott. They are imbeciles because Abbott could take their hands out of the fire, but he is not on their team. One imbecile even suggested that if Turnbull was leader he would vote for the Libs to bring back PPV’s.

Spare me your troll accusations china, I meant they are imbeciles, as the dictionary delineates

63% dislike Abbott.

Thread is heated, one sided, and I will not return again.
Title seems to inform of others viewS not invite debate. PS if Noddy from toy town ran against these two he would be PM!

Gypsy, you just invocked a thought, what would the cost comparison be between processing, housing ect of the illegals, compared to supplying specially fitted out ferries to provide a SAFE JOURNEY back to where they came from.

If affordable, the boats could be intercepted, the passengers transferred to the ferries and returned, the crew imprisoned and the boats burned at sea.

Who knows, it may even work as a deterrent.

Good idea rechtub. At the moment there is no deterrent to remedy the problem so anything that works would be better than none. As for the costs that is a difficult one to work out.

The people smugglers are laughing all the way to the bank and know they have very little if anything to fear under the current system and even the refugees must be laughing.

The offshore camps are or have filled to there capacity so the government will have to bring them to Australia then use the easy way out by relocating them into the community all at the expense to us the tax payers.
