Well, come on, policies and philosophies, that’s surely what it’s got to be all about. Now unless there is a new party with P&P that a reasonable portion of the populace are going to support, then what’s the point in talking about it?

A new party formed and led by Turnbull is not going to have anything new that would count for very much. In fact in light of his recent comments, it seems that he would take Australia down an even bigger-population-growth more-antisustainable-future path than the current mob of drongoes or opposition.

You are not happy with the other two parties so why not an other player.
The libs want to vote for a party with no policy.
The labs have policy but it doesn't suite the libs.
So they rather vote for a party without any direction.
Turnbull is a popular agent, and would be respected, by both lib and lab.

Pretenders?? I don't see how they consitute pretenders.
These guys will never form another party so it doesn't matter.

They do however, represent the much needed middle ground. All of the big problem solving solutions come from the middle. Turnball especially presents logical argument on whatever he talks.

Nuts from the left or right might raise ligitimate issues from time to time, but the real progress and solutions always come from the centre.

Turnbull will not leave the Liberal Party to create a new party, unless he is about to retire from politics, and i will tell you why. Before Turnbull joined the Liberal Party he wanted to join the ALP. That didnt work, so he went to the Liberals. If turnbull really had the interests of the Australian people at heart, instead of joining the two major parties he would have sought to have created a new political party back then, but instead, he opted to go with the status quo.
