Great news folks. The latest Fairfax-Neilsen poll results, on Monday, has Labor rising in the polls for the fourth consecutive month.

The 2 party preferred vote is now Coalition at 52% and Labor at 48%. Every month the Neilsen poll comes out now, it shows a steady Labor increase.

The trend is there for all to see .... unless you're politically blind.

Toxic Tony now has a disapproval rating of a whopping 60%.

The Coalition will have no hope, come the next Federal election. The Coalition has been trying to deceive the electorate about the state of the economy, and their CONSTANT daily lies are now catching up with them.

DP so you are going to post the same thread often?
You will have ample opertunity, forget Individuals post, that is the best he can do.
He only comes to insult, and shoot himself on the way.
Polls are saying some thing different than you think.
First Liberals, sponsored by Gillards blind sheep have the election in the bag.
Second Abbott,s mask has slipped, his and his supporters, dear old Alan Jones of the sewage mouth , drove that.
Given the choice between a month old road kill Kangaroo, and one killed two weeks ago?
Gillard got the nod.
CONSIDER if Abbott,s head apears on a stick, Turnbull returns, how does 60% Liberal 40% Labor on a two party preferred basis.
Poll? lets have 4 way polling include the leaders Australia wants Turnbull Rudd as well as the increasing bad smelling road kill.

I agree DP it is a reason for rejoicing. Anything that could save us from the prospect the worst Govt in Australia history becoming a reality is uplifting for mine.

A Govt led by Abbott that contained people like Bernardi, Morrison, Pyne, and Hockey and Mirabella and Julie and Bronnie Bishop frightens the pant's off me.

Example 1.

They will have already selected the somebody they intend sell the NBN too, after the taxpayer pays for the expensive rural infrastructure bit, the same infrastructure that their corporate buddies would never have paid to build. The freedom that we would have experienced through controlling our own state of the heart communications system accessible to each and every one of us in the home, will have disappeared in a wisp of ideology. And it will be back to the same old same old of being whacked by your monopoly corporate telecommunications supplier when you pay your bill.

Example 2

The introduction of Workchoices 2 with even more screws placed upon the lives and wages of working families. Combined with even more relaxation in laws relating to the individual responsibility of businesses and corporate directors.

Example 3

Immediate difficulties relating too foreign policy in our region, particularly our relationship with Indonesia and Abbott's threat to tow boats back. Imagine Indonesia adopting the same uncivilised policy, where would we be then, ? practically and for all intensive purposes a state of war is where would we be.

Sorry to make this remark Individual, but is your brain frozen ?.

Enjoy it while you can Pete, cause with Mr Swan, and his mission for surplus 'at any cost' things may well back fire for them.

Of cause, labor are now saying what the rest of us predicted, that is that the prejected surplus just may not occur.

REALLY!

About time he pulled his head out of his ars.

The fear of having Abbott as a PM is similtaneously struggling with my loathing of Gillard. I suspect this is the same for other old timers who yearn for political leaders with greater intellect but with a common touch, a little bit of mongrel even, but not too much. Can we truly blame our youth for being cynical and confused?

Banjo, labor have placed a noose around their own necks, or more so, Mr Swan, in that it is he who, despite the ominous signs of a slowing economy, has repeatedly said we will achieve surplus at any cost.

In one foul swoop, he has managed to insult big business, upset potential mums and dads and generally let down the voting public by slashing the likes of education and health, simply in a desperate effort to fulfill his promise of a surplus.

In fact, it's more like an obsession to him, and if it hurts the local economy, that appears to be collateral damage he is willing to cause.

The trouble is that his prediction of a surplus was based on several ducks lining up, which is simply not the case, but his continued position of total denial over the past twelve or so months is what has backed him into his corner, a corner where he now finds himself between a rock and a hard place.

If he achieves surplus, he does so by hurting hard working people, families and the general public, whereas if he fails to achieve surplus, the pain for these folk will remain, but the objective will have been missed.

It's not his fault, as he has never had to worry about his money, as he has been a Polly for as long as I can remember, and we all know just how out of touch they usually are.

Well, the time has come to see whether or not he pulls that noose tight.

Of course Rehctub your argument is based upon the false premise that the Australian economy is faltering and that is a fait accompli that Wayne Swan (whom has actually received international accolades for his handling of the Australian economy) can't do the job.

Your view is nonsense at best, if you consider the relative state of the world economy that the Swan as Treasurer has had to endure during his time at the helm. Particularly during the GFC.

The opposition cannot claim that tax has increased for business and will not change a very good move made by Swan to collect it more frequently, when in power.

And as for the baby bonus I would agree with Tony Windsor whom has described it as the worst piece of legislation ever. For mine it was also the worst ever example of pointless middle class welfare.

The sooner that such neanderthal ideological notions as increasing the population by funding it (in an over populated world) disappear the better.

Thinker2 is of course correct, not like the Hockey/Pyne/Abbott parrots here who simply repeat every ancient, lying line from their Coalition masters.

The "facts" are Australia's economy is doing VERY well indeed. Our international ratings are the BEST possible. Our debt to GDP is close to the LOWEST in the world. Yes, our economy has been managed VERY well post GFC, and that magnificent achievement is BROADLY recognised the world over.

Swan, Gillard, Rudd, and the Labor team, have steered Australia towards a MUCH brighter future, and a MUCH more economically viable future, via the MANY, MANY, MANY pieces of tough and innovative legislation they have successfully put through parliament.

Australians are now starting to recognise this more fully.

The coalition will, of course, continue to try to turn politics into a drama laden soap opera .... full of lies, misrepresentations, drama and continual personal abuse. This has been their tactic since Abbott became their Drama Queen In Chief. They will continue in this way because they have no properly costed policies. "Drama" is all they have.

That's why Labor is now steadily gaining popularity, and it's why Gillard has an approval rating of 60%. The Aussie public isn't stupid, they can see through the Coalition's lies and misrepresentations.

Gillard is the toughest and best politician Australia has seen in recent memory. The Labor government has done Australia proud .... a "fact" that's recognised the world over. Had the Coalition remained in power since the insightful Aussies booted Howard out, we would have been in deep economic depression and headed for a MUCH slower recovery and MUCH more unemployment and poverty.

Having watched this thread for a few days now, isnt it interesting how few replies it has received. Especially compared to the Labor bashing posts that have followed it. Not even a single counter argument just the usual bile and invective from the tories. When will OLO admit that it has become a cesspit of right wing bullies that in no way reflects the wider Australian community. This place, just like murdochs limited news, panders to and pushes a right wing, neoconservative groupthink that aims to crowd and drown out any other voices from the Australian public. Very disappointing.

mikk you may be interested in another thread talking about the current nature of OLO.
However know no single poster/person wants an Abbott victory less than me.
And that I yearn for an ALP victory.
The polls do not promise that.
Monday our Maxine the one who took Howard out, see,s her book hit the deck.
It unfortunately supports my view, Gillard, with far too much help from a union I love, and some idiots within it and the right HIJACKED THE PARTY, KNIFING ITS LEADER.
No victory for us under her.
In fact!
Think about it! every point she has made up, best serves TURNBULL.
Abbottism, miss use of truth, using the product of the southern end of a north bound Bull, and trying to panic the population,is dieing.
NOW not after a defeat the polls this thread is so proud of tell us is an impending loss, is the time to remind power brokers they owe us our party, generations past and present built it they badly miss used it.
IF we go down at their hands let not one of them, EVER LEAD US.
This site is not over run by the right, we have more of them than us, as our country has at present.
We are daily getting more ranters, but they are mostly exhibiting anger not understanding.

I hat over heart want to say I am proud to talk to conservatives such as RObert and many more here.
Rant?well directed at a recent visitor who flamed my every post, sent? maybe.
At the nothing short of? shall we say uninformed who rant, yes right word about us becoming Greece or Spain.
how can any one say that?
About a constructed flamer, who with deliberation stalks the left with unneeded comments.
Right now, thanks to the faceless men, right wing unionist, ALP is out numbered so it is hear.
I am committed to honest comment, from both sides, but feel doubt SOME are not impacting on the OLO I have loved.
So my words are for some not all, who are from the other side.
