Well now we know why the Thompson case took so long to finalise.
The statute of limitations has expired.

The only way they can go ahead is if Thompson agrees to waver the limitation.
I am not certain it applies to all accusations.

Roxon when told that the case against Slipper had no chance of success
still agreed to pay the complainant $50,000 !

The details on all these matters are such that the government has lost
all possible moral creditability.

Poirot, it has got past any niceties such as sub-judice, the actions
of the government & Labour party in protecting Thompson have made it
irrelevant.
Since Thompson has made a fuss about wanting his day in court it will
be interesting to see if he waves the Statute of Limitations.

Before you thunder on Belly, don't bother it has gone past any hope
of being excusable. It is an absolute disaster not just for the
Labour Party but the country.

Surely, if there was such a group as the “mascunazis”, it / they would NOT be trying to convict CT, they’d be yelling: “You go boy, you go boy, rah-rah-rah" purely on account of him being a boy.

Why should Thomson disregard the statute; that involves fines and pay back. The remaining charges have no money attached. So why push your luck. It only makes sense, even Thomsons lawyers have not asked for money.

Because he has made such a thing about his innocence and being eager
to have his day in court.
