rehctub - Maybe some are getting part of the money from the smugglers but it would not be enough politicians to keep it going.
My theory is militarily Indonesia AT THE MOMENT would not do anything to Australia in the future that could be different.
So to make it easier in the future you weaken your adversary monetarily and culturally which is precisely what every single welfare for lifer arriving does.
Sheer stupidity of our Government we give them money and equipment and train there police and military yet we are BILLIONS in DEBT they are in surplus.

Phillip, our do gooder attitude will ultimately be our undoing in the end, as we can't simply keep loading the declining tax payers, in the name of a helping hand for non contributors.

As an example, our government is looking very closely at taxes, looking far and wide for opportunities to increase them, while at the same time, we have others calling for an increase to the dole.

You know you have a problem when people expect to be finically inderpenent while on tax payer funded benefits.

Add to this the money we fork out for the likes of the war and illegals, the end result is there for all to see, well, apart from those who remain in denial.

As for Indo officials being on the take, I say this because that many people, boarding an old boat, can't go un noticed.

To hand out the support we do to illegals must make us the laughing stock of the world.

God help us if they start bringing guns with them.

Anyone with half an ounce of brain will tell you that it is far cheaper & less dangerous to send a country broke by letting it sponsor the invaders rather than fighting the military of the country in the first place.
It's merely a matter of just waiting a few more years until the objective is realised.
Just wait until the USA can no longer afford to play Policeman of the world.
The UN's days too will soon be numbered also due to sheer shortage of funding. All the trouble in the world is now started simply to engage the West & deplete its coffers & stores. When that is done it'll just be a matter of just walking into anywhere they please.

Got this in an email yesterday. Does smell of a high degree of truth to me.

Here’s how a doctor explains it:
A woman in her late 20's came to the hospital today with her 8th pregnancy.
She said to me me "My mum told me that I am the breadwinner for the family."
I asked her to explain.
She said that she can make babies and babies get money from the Government for the family.
It goes like this:
The Grandma calls the Department of child services and Centrelink, and states that the unemployed daughter is not capable of caring
for all of her kids. And they agree, then tells her the children will need to go into foster care.
The Grandma then volunteers to be the foster parent, and receives a cheque for $400 per child each month.

Total yearly income:
$72,000 pa and soon to be more when the 8th one is born, tax-free and nobody has to go to work!

In fact, they get more if there is no husband/father/man in the home! The brother does not count.

Not to mention free dental treatment, free housing, free school dinners, free tuition fees at college or Uni, free eye care and glasses,
free prescriptions and various other benefits...

Total value of all benefits combined probably approaching $120,000 per annum.

That's about my salary as a senior consultant with years of experience and surgical skills in a Melbourne teaching hospital.

Indeed, Grandma was correct that her fertile daughter is the "breadwinner" for the family
