Philip S,
It just shows you that the Indonesian Authorities have their priorities right. Posted by individual, Thursday, 27 September 2012 10:04:44 AM

Individual, you evil man.
Love it! Posted by Hasbeen, Thursday, 27 September 2012 11:43:12 AM

Not unusual.
Phillip s got it wrong, yet again. The answer to the problem is not Indonesia stopping its non resident visitors leaving on leaky boats. It is in stopping the trade. ONLY Malaysia can do that. Posted by Belly, Thursday, 27 September 2012 12:32:12 PM

Hi Guys,
I’ve posted this image before: http://www.smh.com.au/world/sri-lankan-group-in-legal-limbo-20101216-18zmy.html It caught my attention because the faces/body language didn’t match the tales of trauma and woe were being sold. Since then I’ve done a little digging and come up with the missing commentary --see below: http://i1338.photobucket.com/albums/o681/PeterEpson/Withcaptions_zps1eea4b9f.jpg Posted by SPQR, Thursday, 27 September 2012 1:38:50 PM

Belly - Are you for real?
Quote "Phillip s got it wrong, yet again." How is it wrong? Quote "The answer to the problem is not Indonesia stopping its non resident visitors leaving on leaky boats. It is in stopping the trade" This statement is ludicrous the none residents leaving on the boats are the problem. Quote "ONLY Malaysia can do that" Again this statement is ludicrous, Malaysia can only stop them going to Indonesia VIA Malaysia they can't stop them going direct to Indonesia. Now if you go back and read my post it is a satirical comparison to how the Indonesians are able to rescue there own citizens using 10 ships and a helicopter BUT being unable to even find a refugee boat without the Australian Navy doing all the work. The Indonisian authorities must be on the take.
Good luck stopping that. Posted by rehctub, Thursday, 27 September 2012 7:30:01 PM

rehctub - Maybe some are getting part of the money from the smugglers but it would not be enough politicians to keep it going.
My theory is militarily Indonesia AT THE MOMENT would not do anything to Australia in the future that could be different. So to make it easier in the future you weaken your adversary monetarily and culturally which is precisely what every single welfare for lifer arriving does. Sheer stupidity of our Government we give them money and equipment and train there police and military yet we are BILLIONS in DEBT they are in surplus. Phillip, our do gooder attitude will ultimately be our undoing in the end, as we can't simply keep loading the declining tax payers, in the name of a helping hand for non contributors.
As an example, our government is looking very closely at taxes, looking far and wide for opportunities to increase them, while at the same time, we have others calling for an increase to the dole. You know you have a problem when people expect to be finically inderpenent while on tax payer funded benefits. Add to this the money we fork out for the likes of the war and illegals, the end result is there for all to see, well, apart from those who remain in denial. As for Indo officials being on the take, I say this because that many people, boarding an old boat, can't go un noticed. To hand out the support we do to illegals must make us the laughing stock of the world. God help us if they start bringing guns with them. Posted by rehctub, Friday, 28 September 2012 6:12:28 AM

Anyone with half an ounce of brain will tell you that it is far cheaper & less dangerous to send a country broke by letting it sponsor the invaders rather than fighting the military of the country in the first place.
It's merely a matter of just waiting a few more years until the objective is realised. Just wait until the USA can no longer afford to play Policeman of the world. The UN's days too will soon be numbered also due to sheer shortage of funding. All the trouble in the world is now started simply to engage the West & deplete its coffers & stores. When that is done it'll just be a matter of just walking into anywhere they please. Posted by individual, Saturday, 29 September 2012 7:07:55 PM

Got this in an email yesterday. Does smell of a high degree of truth to me.
Here’s how a doctor explains it: A woman in her late 20's came to the hospital today with her 8th pregnancy. She said to me me "My mum told me that I am the breadwinner for the family." I asked her to explain. She said that she can make babies and babies get money from the Government for the family. It goes like this: The Grandma calls the Department of child services and Centrelink, and states that the unemployed daughter is not capable of caring for all of her kids. And they agree, then tells her the children will need to go into foster care. The Grandma then volunteers to be the foster parent, and receives a cheque for $400 per child each month. Total yearly income: $72,000 pa and soon to be more when the 8th one is born, tax-free and nobody has to go to work! In fact, they get more if there is no husband/father/man in the home! The brother does not count. Not to mention free dental treatment, free housing, free school dinners, free tuition fees at college or Uni, free eye care and glasses, free prescriptions and various other benefits... Total value of all benefits combined probably approaching $120,000 per annum. That's about my salary as a senior consultant with years of experience and surgical skills in a Melbourne teaching hospital. Indeed, Grandma was correct that her fertile daughter is the "breadwinner" for the family Posted by individual, Sunday, 30 September 2012 7:50:16 AM

This is how the politicians spend our taxes.
When this generous programme was invented in the '60s, the Great Society architects forgot to craft an end date... and now we are hopelessly overrun with people who vote only for those who will continue to keep them on the dole..... No wonder our country is broke! Worse, our Muslim brothers have been paying attention, and by mandating that each Muslim family have eleven children, they will soon replace the voting bloc above and can be running this country in around 12 years. Are we alarmed yet, is anybody listening? Please know I am not racist nor am I against Immigration, I just worry where this uncontrolled sort of immigration is going take this wonderful country. There must be limits and controls in place or in around 12 years or less we will be going to midday prayers at the local mosque. That's a simple fact of life my friends. They clearly intend to force that upon us. Well? Is anybody listening?? Do we all have to wait for someone to translate this into Australian? individual - I can see Indonesia doing something sooner rather than later, the perfect timing is coming.
1) America will only help another country if it is in there business or strategic interests. 2) In the not to distant future they possible will be unable to do anything because they will be bogged down with 2 conflicts that will overstretch there military. 3) If Israel attack Iran and protecting the Philippines or Japan in relation to the disputed Islands. 4) The 2nd conflict zone is tied to the 1st because if the 1st happens the 2nd is likely to happen because the Iran one would tie up resources that could have been used to contain the 2nd one. Our Government isn't helping it is forcing use to use aircraft that are almost 30 years old. Posted by Philip S, Sunday, 30 September 2012 12:43:06 PM

Philip S,
yep ! What really p....s me off is that the git & his mindless cohorts are now at the end of their days & won't have to cop the consequences. Those of us who have seen what's coming & tried to tell everyone will cop it. Posted by individual, Sunday, 30 September 2012 2:40:48 PM

Phillip and indi, I too have seen it coming, but every time I mention it, I get shot down by the tall poppies and the do gooders.
I often get branded as a dole hater, which I'm not. I dont hate the dole, but what I do hate is the way it is policed and, the way it is allowed to be wasted, time and time again. What I see coming is a time when there will be no welfare, simply because the way it was administered by previous governments meant that the system that was planned to last indefinitely, failed due to lack of funding. People, including governments, have to get back to basics and remember, the dole was designed as a HAND UP not a HAND OUT. Of cause another lurk is these single mums claiming sole parenting benefits, while in a steady relationship. Here, we have a couple, living a normal healthy lifestyle, paying half rent and free most things while married couples and honest people foot the bill. As for the tax payer supporting kids, I recon three kids is a reasonable number. If you want more, find a way to provide for them. A job is one place to start. I stand by my claim that we should quarantine all welfare, simply to stop the waste. If you want freedom, work for it. Posted by rehctub, Monday, 1 October 2012 5:40:12 AM

rehctub - quote "If you want freedom, work for it." by freedom I assume you mean welfare it is easy to get just find a country stupid enough to look after you better than there own people then hop on a boat and go there.
PS - Don't forget to ring them up to come and pick you up so that you can have a safe trip on one of there navy taxi's. Posted by Philip S, Monday, 1 October 2012 9:02:47 PM

Quote "A helicopter and at least 10 ships were searching for survivors, said Gagah Prakoso, a spokesman for the National Search and Rescue Agency"
This must be a miracle they rescued 200 people without the help of the Australian Navy, praise be Indonesia are finally rescuing people and taking them to Indonesian ports.
SORRY
Read some more it was an Indonesian ferry with Indonesians on board.
BUT it does make you wonder why they are so quick in this case but when it is a boatload of refugees they CAN"T EVEN FIND THE BOAT but Australia always seems to be able to find they and conveniently bring them to Australia.
Imagine 10 ships and a helicopter but when it is a refugee boat nothing.
