Here we have the unprecedented position of our sitting government, who's numbers are so thin, that, in the most likely event that slippery Pete will still be in the sin bin, come the resumption of parliament, will have to rely on the deputy speaker to make up thier numbers, that's assuming the likes of Wilki, Oacshot and Windsor continue to bury their heads in the sand, although Wilki and Windsor are looking shaky..

Talk about a government on life support.

But dont worry, all will be saved, as we will soon have a mining tax, the worlds largest carbon tax, and a quest to return to surplus AT ANY COST.

Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, don't it!

I see it makes you hot, heated and partly blind mate.
Do you expect the Mad Monk to be an improvement?

On life support or not, this is the all-time most productive govt; in the history of AU.
At a time AU voters delivered a hung parliament, legislation has been passing the most social reform in the life of any AU govt;.
Our opposition leader is certainly distracted from the day to day of govt; as he was hoping for rate cuts by the fed; reserve today , and all he got was inflation figures.
Parliament has been enduring the most unjust negative opposition in the life of politics of AU, but has surged ahead with social reform.
The ability of opposition to deliver a balanced budget if they ever had the chance of govt; is Questionable, as there is several different scenarios of economics among their treasurer finance minister and Tony Abbott
With around 18 months to the next election AU voters have plenty of time to make their voting judgements as to who would be more competent at the finances and economics of our great nation.

18 months you say, wishful thinking I would suggest.

My prediction is we will have an election, the election THE PEOPLE WANT sooner, rather than latter.

And yep, we sure have passed some legislation, the worlds largest carbon tax, and a huge tax on about the only sector that is making headway, although, word is, even they are beginning to struggle.

You know, often the best way to fix something is to not break it in the first place.

And Belly, it's not just a case of whether or not A can do any better, it's more a case of whether this PM deserves the prvilage of holding he position, given the lies.

Sorry 579, I forgot the huge tax break for small business, you know, the one worth about a cup of coffee a week to most.

Juliar will bring back Slipper as speaker not because it is the right thing to do, but the only thing to do to stay in power. Both Thomson and Slipper and now the entire labor government are embroiled in Sleaze and corruption, the way that NSW Labor was a year ago. If Juliar thinks things can't get worse, she is wrong.

The way things are going Abbott is going to get control of both houses without the need for a DD election.

Craig Thompson and Slippery Pete are bringing corruption to the surface in the halls of Canberra. We can only hope that an early election can prevent corruption reaching the levels it achieved in our recent New South Wales Labour Government where so many were on the take. I think we need to question how people of this calibre can be elected to lead us. Is it our pre-selection process? I suspect the attraction to politics of lawyers in a feeding frenzy is part of our problem.
