Oh Gininininia. You crafty little minx!

If you stay on Mums side, you cant lose! If the Beverley Hill-billy siblings win, you get the money outright, if you stick to mummy's side, you get a much nicer drip feed of the tasty pie.

Clever Girl. Must have some of mommy's smarts.

So who is a fit and proper person to be a trustee and how can $142 mil capital gains tax ruin you if you're inheriting $2 billion? More like the share price will go down when the kids want a liquidation Sale!

Ah, the problems of the rich.

Still, if Gina thinks her kiddies aren't fit and proper responsible adults what does it say about her efforts in raising them. Or that of the nanny?

What say you all. I'm with the kids on this. It's a bit late to parent middle aged children, and the money was left to them.

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed...

Yeeeeh ha!

Gina, in truth once had much support as she fought her dads wife.
On the surface she appears to have become a bit like that she once fought.
Her Dad Lang supported Joe, so no surprise her tax benefactor, sorry National party mate had her on his must help list.
Gina may not be with us all that much longer, she sure knows how to consume, food at least.

*More like the share price will go down when the kids want a liquidation Sale!*

Its far more complicated then that, Houllie. Its not a public
company, and as I understand it, a share can only be sold to
somebody within the family, so there is no share price.

I think that mommy has to accept that the kids don't have her
kind of ambitions and want to enjoy life. Going public is their
way of forcing her hand, as she likes her privacy. In the end however,
she has far deeper pockets then them and can keep the lawyers
busy for years, wheras they can't, thats why she wants it out of
the press.

I think that their claim that they want everything above board,
audited and out in the open, is quite fair and reasonable.

So Gina is IMHO not winning the public opinion stakes over this.

Its actually quite an interesting story from a psychological point
of view. IMHO, if you have a billion, why on earth would you want
two? I can only conclude that some seek public recognition of
their achievements and the way that society judges it is the
more billions that you have, the cleverer you are. Like winning
at monopoly. So thats what they play.Personally I could not be
bothered, life is too short. I mean Gina is no small woman anymore
and if she has a heart attack, what then?

Well, when I heard Senator Barnaby Rubble tell the world that he was good friends with Gina, that sort of said it all, didn't it?

No doubt she whines and dines with Alan Jones too.

Much as I loathe Swan, the Barney connection to Gina rather shows how the uber wealthy influence our politicians behind the scenes.

It truly surprises me, that this thread has not truly got going.
Leave all thought of politics out of it, our side.
Consider current events involving the very rich.
The history of this family, the history of the man who founded this great fortune.
We avoid discussions about wealth, about folk like Palmer, I have stopped skipping over story's about him, after being informed of his true nature.
He too seeks control , via his wealth.
Are the rich any different than us.
Are family bar be Q's as likely to become a cat fight as ours?
I Think not.

'It truly surprises me, that this thread has not truly got going.'

Same here it has gossip and generational angst!

I think everyone's afraid of being sued.

'Are the rich any different than us.'
Yeea! They have money and their troubles involve splitting up $2 Billion rather than who drank the last beer.

I reckon rich people have an obligation to be discreet and not be bogans. Don't know why but I reckon they should all have to talk and chuckle like Alexander Downer and use the word Portfolio twice in each sentence.

And use the word Whom all the time of course.
