So our Politicians have been granted a pay rise.
A female TV commentator said these words, most people would be happy to see them not get paid at all.
We hear them, or words like them often.
About our councils, State, and Federal Politicians, from every side.
In fact we apply the same lack of understanding and logic to Police Fire fighters, almost every one.
Other than our selves.
Any one who makes or enforces laws , gives service is subject to our need to prove, we put little thought in to what we say/think
All paths create enemy's any out come is, at best the one that will please most.
Never all.
Rather than spend the time ,thinking considering the great politicians we know we had, we display our inability to other than skim on the top of the pond.
To not dive deep and see, with every team, that ever entered a party room, any party committed good folk walked.

Dear Belly,

I watched the news this evening and the way it
was explained made some sense. I believe that the
pollies with the pay increases will have to give
up many of their so called "perks" so perhaps it
will even out in the end. But it's come at a bad
time.

Its all in the
timing isn't it? What with nurses and others,
fighting for a decent wage, and the Victorian State
Government announcing right before Christmas -
(despite being well over their budget surplus)
of cutting 3,600 public service jobs will make
many people rather dubious about what pollies
do or don't deserve.

Lexi yes indeed.
I am not defending bad politicians, all party's have hacks.
A lessor person rewarded for long service or for supporting some one.
I am trying to highlight, my firm belief, those who claim all politicians/any group, are worthless should not be able to vote!
Australians may not know it, but paying the right money for the right person is a standard thing industry's do.
We get what we pay for.
A hail storm like thing will hit me for defending truth.
But silly, unbelievable, childlike statements about the worthiness of such is a blind for failure to even start to understand the issue.
I judge those who judge in this way our Polly's or any other group as incapable of understanding.
At best some will dislike every result, but that is unavoidable not planned.

Talk about pot kettle black, a TV commentator complaining about pollies salaries. Wow! And a female one at that. They are pretty well paid, & every one of those I have seen has been chosen for the contents of her bra, not her head.

I really don't know what a polly is worth, although I can think of a few who should be paying us for putting up with them.

I am continually amazed at how much we pay everyone today, but then I am equally amazed at what everything costs.

Today I came across my rates bill from 2001. It was a shock to see that the bill for 12 months, just 10 years ago, was much less than I pay for 6 months today. I guess even pollies have to pay their rates too.

That's right, belly but go further and admit that people in the private sector are accountable for their blunders. Lying, thieving, inept, pollies get off scott free and still get their perks!

If they want to get paid as private sector people do, then they have to start being accountable for their screw ups! Fat chance, huh?

Raw Mustard I rarely if ever get much joy or interest out of your contributions, this time I thank you!
The line for uninformed comment starts over there.
I can be charged, with HYPOCRISY! I kick my party daily.
And every other one.
But that should be our duty.
Democracy is not ever going to work if we are not willing to do that.
BUT in all things,we judge unfairly.
Any one see the Highway Patrol story Wednesday?
Gentleman in a hurry clocked at 61 in a 40 klm School zone.
See him say the Police officers was a gunman and a criminal, we judge others far more harshly than our selves.
Hasbeen my rates rose the same, and only service we have is rubbish collection.
Power was $54 a quarter! 9 years gone and its $360.
I did not intend to other than continue challenging wrongs.
But this must be highlighted.
Say we speak of John Howard, a man I think listened too much to his wife.
And who got it very wrong in work choices.
Some will say he never did any good.
Such blindness is from the ones who should join RM, a line that would get to be quite long.
And by the way, most would forget why they are in it..
