*That was my point. Why?*

Antiseptic, the press clearly saw the amusing and controversial
side of the story, ie powerful women bankrolling a brothel. The
press thrives on controversy, so they made a story out of it, which
created a problem for Westpac, for suddenly every feminist customer
would have been aware of it. How many rang to complain we don't know. As the customer is always right, Westpac had to deal with
it as best they could.

Men bankrolling a brothel would hardly create a story that sells
newspapers.

We've been told that women on boards are supposed to add value and improve the board's decision-making.

That's the rhetoric. It seems that having women on Westpac's board has robbed shareholders of a perfectly good business opportunity. The bank made it clear that the gender of just 3 of its directors was the specific reason for the decision to withdraw the offer of financing a perfectly legal and no doubt profitable development opportunity. This decision has directly reduced shareholder value.

Aren't boards supposed to "enhance shareholder value"? If this had been a proposal for a development containing a male sex club would the gender of the (majority) of the directors been important and would it have resulted in the loss of the business?

Let's get real here, ladies.

Answering a question with question is the norm round here....what are you saying? and what in all " truth" are you or have with a point, and not some kind of game.

If money makers had a sole...they would consider that their efforts are in a small group that individuates, rather than what they reluctantly think:)....

Its a hard world:)....but should it be?......maybe we should leave the system as it is.

LOL...I guess I could of called them a flounder, but soles are on the same level:) Very tasty I might add:).....However if they did have a soul or a shred of common decency among them, they might not of had that fishy smell about them, where ever they go.

:/ Bankers with morals?

I started to chuckle as soon as I layed eyes on it.

Now I might see the point of having one of those pit bulls around:)
