Does it really matter what others believe in?, most people have faith in SOME THING,if their faith gives them hope and comfort then so be it.....it is NOT for other people of other religious persuasions to criticize others. The damage done by fundamentalists of ALL religions causes much misery in this world, not to mention war and the disastrous effects it has on others, just in the name of religion.
Keep your belief to yourself, and don't subscribe to other folk who tell you that you are 'wrong' in what you have faith in.
A lot of wars (historically) have been fought in the name of religion.
And the aftermath is always there for others to 'clean up'.Do people really give pause to contemplate the damage inflicted on others in the name of religion? I doubt it., radical religious folk need to shut there mouths, put their heads down and continue with their own thoughts and leave others' beliefs to themselves.

I don’t think so N S B, Wars are fought and made by GOVERNMENTS and their Elites , and Misery is caused by Governments and their Elites , The History books not written by Historicists plainly convey factual information to dispel your notion , and without Ambiguity.

Atheism is fundamentally a religious doctrine – Hegel - and is nothing other than a panphysicalist Universalism Metaphysical mysticism , and has more to do with doctrines set for a course to Totalitarianism and Statism as the past history will prove it to be, that it has been, and is all about the state of war and to eliminate Individualism; for Power - Wealth - and a prededitory form of Income stolen . Of course.

We sort of have to choke when the populist demagogies proclaim to be Atheistic and the Non believers in technical terms of this day, to be an insult to their own objective analysis and actual Rational investigation to which such protagonist and dogmatic doctrines emanated – For their Intuition tells them: The Zeitgeist has ordained the provident and inexorability of Socialism. The future is ours; or so they think (Oxymoron)

Just explodes the Progressives and Atheism theory to smithereens.

Just as rational Utilitarianism in science do not disagree; it is the Progressive mindset that conducts a campaign for the denunciation of Christian Ethics and Judaism ; to denounce that of the Book cover, and the basic content is reinvented by others as if it was a new doctrine.

Despotism- Nihilistic and Fatalism despotism is the end result; Kill the Infidels – Burn the Heretics – and for theProgressive and Atheists ; Liquidate the dissenters ; It is Democratic , therefore it is Just ; Guess who wrote that?

So time in memorial , The State Elites funding their depravity , Passed off to the public with an epithet of Science of these days ;But it be nothing other than Fatalistic Despotism.

To be honest, seeing that you have put this out there for feedback, I'd say the letter is a bit ineffective. Assuming that the Pope himself does read it, I don't know that he'd make head or tail of what you're saying. I can't.

Well, I get the gist of it, but some specificity may have helped. What propaganda campaigns specifically do you have in mind? What "dogging on other beliefs and religions"? I'm sure there's a rational reason behind this, and I'm sure that an event or series of events has prompted it, but you don't make that particularly clear.

As for the old "existence of God" pearler, those who are having a go at BrettH should keep in mind that he doesn't say God doesn't exist, and he doesn't demand evidence that He does. While it appears clear that Brett believes in no God/god/gods, he at least practises what he preaches and shows some respect for the fact that other people DO believe. In that regard, he has a valid point by raising the statement that there is no substantial evidence.

I believe in God - my posts in here have made that clear many times. I have reasons for that belief - experiential ones as well as teachings and upbringing. They are personal, however, and I'm very aware that people who have been through the same things may well interpret them differently. The key, as appears to be the thrust of Brett's letter, is to respect that fact.

Hi Brett,
I think you will be surprised. If you really sent a letter to the Pope, you will get a personal answer. Compare that with our pollies, who send form letters no matter what the issue.
I think you should also consider which organisations you should be criticising. The catholic church and many other churches have been in the forefront of providing assistance to the most helpless and needy in our community. Why not throw some money to Vinnies, or the Sallies, or Red Crescent/Cross rather than carp!
