Why can I feel a new rip off creeping up on me?

Could it be the simple floating of the idea that something has to be done about flood insurance by our Anna.

Obviously our spendthrift state government has no money to use to do something to protect the folk of Brisbane against the next flood. So what to do? How to get out from under the load of expectation?

What better than to blame the insurance companies? Now with some careful manipulation we can get compulsory house insurance, including flood, & transfer the cost to all the home owners, most of whom are never going to be flooded.

I cancelled my insurance with the local big insurer after two increases in two years totaled 45%. They justified the increases by including full flood, at no extra cost. Bet they are sorry now.

It was a con of course, I'm on a ridge, 25 meters above the plain, & don't need it thanks.

Still, I think Anna would rather transfer the load to us. We all pay double insurance rates, & our trusty government can duck out of doing anything.

When Goss took over all ambulance services in Qld, it was going to be a great service, saving much cost.

When Beattie found that Labor mismanagement had created a hugely expensive juggernaut, he introduced a new tax, [sorry Levy], to get the huge expense out of his budget.

Then, as a bloke who could never do anything simply & honestly, he had to create another con. Instead of having everyone pay a Levey on their drivers licence, where most people could share it, he forced councils to add it to rates. Some rate payers paid the tax/Levy up to 4 times, but Beattie had the anger aimed at councils, not him.

Cunning, & he trained Anna.

Can we all, take our rose colored glasses and put them in the draw.
Get the brain out of that bucket by the door install it again in its rightful place.
Now what cash has any government got, just how much do they have,
Every cent comes via us,oh yes tax havens exist, some/rich pay far less.
But we pay in the end or those who buy our exports do.
What out comes do YOU want from these floods?
Mine are these,in part, rebuilding better if possible, and as fast as possible.
An inquiry, lets learn if it could have been done better, warnings buildings, that dam.
Now New Zealand has a different insurance system, not all that sure about it, is it better is it delivering the goods, yes it has to be paid for.
Is the standard of debate for some OLO posters drifting?
I warned of an inability to focus on issues with out biases, but here a protector of conservatives warns us of what?
A CRIME COMMITED? NEGLECT OF THE VICTIMS OF THESE NATION WIDE FLOODS?
No a warning of shadows, it will cost us a great deal all of us,the very poor can not contribute to help, we can, have you given yet hasbeen?
Do you see my concern? you again launch the henny penny syndrome at Labor.
But while they may be on the way down in QLD do not forget they won more votes more trust in your state.
My in box is this morning full,of bigotry from CHRISTIAN Conservatives
This country must lift the blinkers in political debate, we must expect and demand better from every one.
This tragic horrible series of events needs our attention ,it demands we do not let our mates down, we should give then give again, hold every charity party and person accountable.
But flog one party with what has not yet happened?
I take full responsibility for my every word wrong or right,I understand some on my side are dreadful things, but at least I understand.

It won't be Annie get your gun, it'll be Annie get your speed camera. Just you wait for the proliferation of fines to get hold of more money.

Isn't that Hasbeen something else. He has dreamed up a new tax now. A flood tax. I don't think that will fix future floods.
Floods across five states, we could be in trouble. How do you guard against NATURAL wether events
