What can we do, but wait it out, repair what is lost, hoping that what we lose we may regain one day with stronger communities working together as one.
This is a time when we need to look at cost, we need to look at suspending new investments of wastage areas via proposals on the table and redirect those funds to damage control.
Out of this comes some good if appropriate measures are taken, that in short terms rather than long terms farmers and land may prosper from what is.
Other areas we need to look at is feeding from stock to wildlife and the replenishment of the land.
How do we go about this? Is simple make use of mother nature’s style of fertilising growth, make use of Hercules planes at mid range altitudes not low and rain down seeds once the water has subsided while the ground is still sponged.
No need for planting just rain pallets of Sir James grass, fruit and other seeds from the sky; take to seed they will the natural way.
Seed the north, seed the outback, and take advantage of a moment when the heavens open up to water for a benefiting purpose.
We are a country of generous people that are always happening to pull together in need; we will do just that and succeed.
Take the moment to look abroad from the box of norm not just the utilities and boards torn, but what else can be done to revitalise this moment when the water is withdraw.
