Why P&O cruises..

I am so tired of hearing about all the crime etc happening on P&O cruises. Is this the only cruise company that has all these problems?
I don't think so.
I have been on these ships and never saw any of the things the Media is proclaiming. I believe the drug induced death that happened, but why can't they leave it alone. I feel it is like a feeding frenzy of piranas.
Doesn't all this drug and alcohol problem happen in.... Canberra, well known hotels and resorts etc ,we never hear about them ,but bet it happens on a regular basis.
Does any one else feel they are targeting this cruise liners company? Or am I presuming to much again...

I think the problem on the P & O cruises is the lack of professionalism from many of the staff.

I went on a cruise when I was about 17 years old and I couldn't believe how the staff got themselves involved, in every which way, with those that were cruising on the ship. There was no supervision in relation to drugs or anything else for that matter. I am now 42-3 so it was quite some time ago but it seems to me that things havent changed.

There appears to be no guidelines or rules as to how staff should behave the only thing that they seem to understand is that there is a process they need to adhere to when things go wrong and that process is designed to protect the reputation of the company.

It is a shame that things are not run in a better manner because cruises can be so much fun. I know my son is very upset that the schoolies cruise is being cancelled as he was wanting to go on one.

Ah the Grumble case! the ultimate gender war vehicle

In the Blue corner we have some blokes of "Multi Cultural Appearance in cheap suits" who "went down to the sea in boats" to get pi$$ed, stoned and laid

In the Red corner we have a Ms Grumble of "Fat Old Cow Appearance" who "went down to the sea in boats" to get pi$$ed, stoned and laid

So this was never going to be bling bling Home & Away sex, rather it was always going to be "original sex", ie back to the very roots [no pun intended] of the Greer War where only the "visually impared" would agree to lay her without a bag on her head

Germaine wrote her famous revenge article "Lady Love Your C-word" and the rest is history

So blokes got laid, Ms Grumble got laid [but it seems overly laid] and P&O did the honourable thing and MIS-laid certain things which might have detracted from the good name of the Ship [ie a good place to get laid, but not fatally if possible].

So we expected the Greerites to do the "Poor Little Ms Grumble" bit, and of course they did - but after doing an "intellectually honest" retilting of the goldposts/windmills, do we simply say it was a 2 - 2 Draw and throw the whole thing overboard [being also a "Certain Maritine Incident", indeed]

Not at all Yer Honour! What has been conveniently forgotten [BY EVERYONE] is that the blokes in cheap suits were not using the cruise as part of a "contact visit" BUT Ms Grumble was the "Custodian" [as Howard still calls it] of a young child, and Ms Grumble had brought the child on the cruise and left the child alone in a cabin while she went off to get laid.

Now that just don't seem dang right to me, and at the very least makes a mockery of the "poor Lonely Parent Pensioner" theory of the Red corner mob, that Ms Grumble was actually able to afford such a trip - ah but I was forgetting child support.

Very droll, DD - at least the first couple of paras. However, I think this whole beat-up has been driven by the tabloid media, rather than the evil feminists. I doubt you'd find too many 'Greer-ites' in their ranks ;)

Why is eveyone blaming the media for a beatup, the P&O staff for their lack of professionalism on board the ship, or even the victim on her alleged sexual indiscretion, or more absurdedly on feminism gone wrong. First fighting for someones life (in this case a female) has nothing to do with feminism. It is a right that anyone has. And how is it a media beatup...when someone has died in such horrific circumstances?

Has anyone here not seen or heard the disgusting recorded messages of some of the accused?

Being on a ship is not just about having fun for yourself, maybe it is, but there is no excuss for highly anti-social behaviour that risk other passengers' lives. Law and order needs to be upheld each and every time, no matter it is on ship or land.

So maybe we should all wait for the due legal process to run its course before making anymore pseudo-theories.

I understand what you are saying

the blokes of Multicultural Appearance WILL be afforded the same "access to justice" as was Anu Singh who was PROVEN to have slipped a Mickey to Joe Cinquie and murdered him by heroin injection along with all the best law students in Canberra - see Helen Garner book

The court will find these blokes too were acting under diminished responsibility because of a pampered upbringing and let them off - correct??

But wait a moment, Joe Cinquie was totally innocent and Ms Grumble was a fat femmo tart out to get laid, AND leaving her daughter alone in a cabin, only to later find her mum was a fat tart.

and I love the way you say wait for full decision BUT talk to "the nasties of the blokes"

Hey the law is an ass under Howard and remember after the bloke WON the Hairy Legged Lesbian case, Howard just axed that whole tribunal after a word in his pinkie from Pru

I have no sympathy for the cruise liners as drunken behaviour, binge drinking and a piss trough of booze, men behaving like Cantebury Football club dropouts, women behaving like vile bushpigs. Some are trapped in this nightmare and are slipped mickey finns.

Its the innocent ones that deserve duty of care. The ones that can handle their drugs and alcohol without raping people to death. The onces not evil enough to slip drugs into drinks just to get their own way.

Look we have laws were any barmen with a Responsiblie Service of Alcohol certificate, knows, that if a person has 4 indicators that they are out of control, you serve them soft drinks and water, and no more booze. Otherwise, the securtiy takes them away. That is the law.

Cruise ships should be no different.

Why are they so lax in searching for Crystal meth, GHB, eccies, or whatever can cause death?

I have no sympathy for P & 0, or their snooty clients who will try to get away with murder. Or manslaughter. Or at least in breach of their "duty of care" which deserves sackings.
