I specifically remember attending the rallies that bought and end to conscription and with it an end to the Vietnam war, and the incumbent Coalition Gov't. And the false notion of the domino theory and communists under the bed.

And I specifically remember the plain clothes police and most probably Asio operatives inserted in the crowds to incite violence and agitation in an attempt to justify the quelling of public opinion by force.
It didn't work because the hundreds and thousands of real protesters wanted to make love not war.
