StG, it is not hypocritical for medical staff to perform abortions, while they refuse to perform euthanasia. It is currently LEGAL to ask for and receive abortions in this country, and this is highly unlikely to change.

If you don't want your organs used to save someone else's life, then you can 'opt out'.

I believe though that all people who register to opt out of organ donation after their death should also be on the the register to be last in line to receive an organ should they ever need one.

Fair enough?

Opt in or opt out wont do any good when your Mother/Father/brother/Sister etc etc etc van veto what you want.
Dead people have no human rights.

I would be a big supporter of everyone being a donor unless they say otherwise. This should also not be over turnable, as should a will not be challengeable unless it can be proven that the will was drawn up when the person was not of sound mind. Who are we putting our wants before the person for who's organs and wealth it is. Yet another example of the greed and insecurity of our society.
Euthanasia is another issue again, i support the idea that i should be able to end my life when i choose, but how do you control the situation and what do you do about the inevitable abuse?

Suiside is illegal. You don't get insurance for an illegal death.
I think you can find a death can be hastened if the situation arises.
No one is going to say that out allowed.
Uthenasia by request leaves the situation open to all sorts of complications.
It would be a legal minefield, and for that reason i doubt if any one will touch it.
