Very clearly, I am not a US hater nor have I ever been one. I abhor what is being done in the "name of the American people" in committing some of the best US youth to death or crippling injuries. In Iraq there has been thousands of rounds of depleted uranium shells fired by the US which must contaminate their own troops. I remember how they sprayed their own troops with agent orange in Vietnam then before the world denied it until the evidence was overwhelming. I hate also what is being done to the Iraqis and it will probably take a hundred years for their population to recover.

Let us be clear here, the US was a nation forged in struggle by revolutionary founders against colonial invaders from England. They espoused great principles such as the "unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” in the Bill of Rights. This bill had its effects on the world by guaranteeing freedom of speech, religion, the press and assembly, freedom from detention without trial, and freedom from arbitrary search and seizure.

Compare these revolutionary ideals against the criminal gang in the White House who are attempting to reverse these basic legal rights and ideals.

Let us not forget the role played by the US in assisting the UN Geneva Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment violations constituting war crimes as defined by Article 3 on the treatment of war prisoners. Here the US led the world in defining rights of war prisoners. Violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture in taking hostages and outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment. All of these have been broken in Guantanomo Bay.
