Anyone else got a problem with St George Bank?

St George Bank just about seems to own the National Forum site at the moment with its clever pitch for those who distended their wallets during the festive season. "Transfer your bankcard debts to us and we won't charge you interest on the debt for 6 months". Depending on their establishment fees, and their normal rate of interest, this could be a compelling offer.

But it appears to have led one reader to complain:

"Comments: Please let me know how sponsorship with a bank allows you to build supposed credibility for your comments."

Hard to see how we'd have any credibility without this advertisement(and the others) because without them we'd probably not exist, so the issue of credibility would be moot.

But maybe I'm blind to the real issues. Anyone else agree with our commenter that it is a credibility problem?

No, but I actually reckon that they may have mistaken the add for something that someone actually posted, not a site advertisement that shows up above the last poster. If that's the case, then the commentor is an idiot. If they have a problem with site sponsorship, well thats their problem.

We MUST never forget our own posts and those of others are not always right!
And how very lucky we all are someone wants to pay to keep this page up and running.

I have a problem with EVERY bank grrrrrr.... but the one redeeming feature of the ads here, is that the Banks clearly believe enough people VIEW them to make it worthwhile.

That means our views and opinions are becoming more mainstream. That has to be good.

St George have always claimed they want to be more in touch with the ordinary people.
Nothing they are doing is new.
Its a good bank with real people.
I agree its great they are helping to pay the way.
What I like about them is they listen to everybody and make up their own minds. They wont be hussled.
Good for them.
Still I could imagine how some control freaks might be concerned.

Personally I have never had a problem with them. A wonderful bank when you line them up with some others I could name.
