Of course..what the Architect of the KYOTO protocol does not tell you is that HE (Maurice Strong) is a director of the CHICAGO CLIMATE EXCHANGE and stands to make a personal FORTUNE out of this trading.

MY PLAN. (the real me..not the nick)

1/ Set a cap on electricity consumption for business only.
2/ Beyond that limit, a tax is raised which has ONE and one ONLY purpose.. to fund discounted solar panels and grid connect inverters for residential use.
3/ All funds so raised and applied are applied ONLY in Australia.

DISCLOURE.. I am not 'in' but am 'close' to the Solar home installation industry. (sadly..I happen to be scared of heights :)
I won't make money out of this, but I might get cheap panels.

4/ FORESTS carbon sinks. leave it to the UN to whack countries which are decimating their forests. We can plant tree populations on degraded farm land and spend some of our 'carbon' tax money on research to that effect. (10% perhaps)

About a month ago the market price of carbon collapsed on the European
carbon exchange from around E30 to E1.
Has it yet recovered ?
Iy appears that an unknown number of expired carbon credits were sold
into the market from Hungary.

I suspect that Emission Trading Schemes are much more dodgy than
the normal stock exchange.

But can you (if you don't mind) take that thought to the MAURICE STRONG thread? I would value your input and thougts on the following:

IF.... Strong, Gore and others (Soros?) have invested heavily in Carbon trading exchanges (which they have) and thus are exposed to serious financial risk. (Gore has over $5 billion under management)..this places EXTREME neccessity for introducing CAP and TRADE "LAWS" which will force all and sundry to participate in these exchanges whether they want to or not, and such laws are vital for GORES economic interest..his connections to the DEMOCRATIC party are self evident.

The rest of the dots can be filled in by any reasonable person.
Maurice STRONG is also a director of the Chicago Climate Exhcange (CCX)and surely must be a major shareholder.

CLIMATE CHANGE and GLOBAL GOVERNANCE are intimately connected.. scarily so.

Along the Murray River there are many farms that irrigate. Tradable permits were going to ensure the health of the river, most would agree the river is in very poor condition now but prefer to blame the drought.

A trilateral agreement between Japan, NZ, and us was going to save southern bluefin tuna stocks from collapse by introducing individual tradable quotas. Japan simply buys southern bluefin from Taiwanese fishermen, though they probably have to be even more sneaky nowadays.

The climate is going to be saved by an ETS, and I'm sure it really has nothing to do with the billions of dollars they'll rake in. At least they will put a glossy ad on telly to make me feel contented like all the other lemmings.
