Apparently there has been a concerted attack on You Tube with 100's Porn being posted under popular teen star titles.
Also with Children's cartoon starters and labels.

One admitted participant claimed it was in revenge for You Tube taking off music. Misguided or what?
In reality the stopping of music is at the behest of the Big 5 Music companies.
In 2007 these corporation's got together and succeeded in changing the patent laws on intellectual property laws to increase the ban from 25 years to 70 years after the death of the artist and 90 years for Corporation.
They also started suing individuals for down loading as little as 6 song at $20,000 each song.

Interestingly the awards don't get passed on to the artists.

Fyi in 2006 Disney Corp bought the last remaining years of "Happy Birthday" they now have sole rights to the song for the next 87 years.
Given that they are one of the most aggressive litigants think about your next children's birthday party video...it will technically be breaking the law.
The US is forcing other countries (including others) to sync their laws in order to sue us.

As a baby boomer I miss the music of the 50's and 60's the contradiction is that most of these songs/artists aren't available on CD. Try and find Ronnie Dove, Crash Craddock, and Brenda Lee.(musically sus but they are memories).

The law extends to your DNA.

Free enterprise is one thing but this.....extortion.

What do you think.

IT's a matter of time before laws are borderless. It's just the nature of globalisation and an ever increasing use of the net for everything. It's doing the heads of the corporations in because they are struggling to control the use of their products.

As for YouTube, there is just SO MUCH wrong with it I don't even know where to begin. It's a business, and they're making a REAL effort to turn it into like the Disney Channel for the consumption of middle America.

I mentioned this in another thread, but what REALLY does my head in is that you can watch someone being shot to death in High Definition but you can't see female breasts.

Here's an example. Warning, disturbing.

Now, try and find a nipple. Bet you don't.

Just turn to SBS if you need your fix of 'breasts', porn or perversion. I really don't know what you are complaining about.

The major problem with Youtube is that it's also too open for abuse through malicious troublemakers or offended busybodies flagging and effectively taking away content far too easily.
And of course, are too easily strong-armed and threatened by other companies on the premise that they're merely angry (one example being a video of a guy making fun of a rock band and having it taken down by the record company- while noting various AMVs using the same song were ignored).

In short, I would suggest three things.

1- Better, clearer rules on what copyrighted content may/may not be shown, so only clear cases of breaches would be followed- keeping in mind that people watch shows and listen to music FREE on TV and radio for the past few decades and as such should at least be as lenient.

2- require a much stronger protocol to remove videos than a handful of malicious troublemakers.

3- Simply accept the fact that kids shouldn't even be ON the net at all and stop trying to tone down to Prime-Time TV content. Seriously, what content would a kid POSSIBLY need to see on the net? They most likely aren't going to be researching anything very complicated that a trip to the library (which is also free) can't solve. They are arguably too young to use facebook and email responsibly either, with all the perverts and con-dealers contacting them.

Anyway, I think this guy has gone WAY overboard though.

Oh and Runner- I don't normally waste time responding to you as you always keep missing the point of every thread- but you've given me a good idea- I think I will start flagging videos of church sermons and pope speeches for removal from Youtube.
If you're upset, feel free to fire up the Christian Channel and get your sick fix of a guy reading biblical passages there- however, I think I won't bother flagging the crazy Jihad preachers, I don't see what harm it does!

I don't expect you to pick up the analogy, so I'll continue ignoring you as normal.

King Hazza and others

In This instance it wasn't simple T&A one US site said it was smoke-room stuff hard core and disguised in cartoons etc and listed as Hannah Montana a pre teen idol etc.

You tube deleted hundreds of up loaded videos and closed a number of accounts.

The real issue to me is the lack of regard for others of the 21 year old and his mates. Then claiming it was in the name of retaliation for stopping copy righted music.Of all the selfish, childish miss targeted protests it amounts to self indulgent yobs terrorizing innocent victim (children) because they can. Charges should be laid.

Surely this is an argument for setting boundaries on "family viewing sites" (as claimed by the owners of You Tube).

I do however believe that the 90 year rule is unnecessarily socially and scientifically restrictive so a minority can benefit and exercise power. I would suggest at the cost of the public.

In short I don't think two wrongs make a right. To them, I'd say Think boys think target the villain not make victims.

Music should be free, how can anyone own it? You play it, it is over. If they make a recording and you buy it they change the technology agains and again forcing you to buy the same music in different format over and over.

If a muso wants to make money play a gig, simple. 8 hours work for 8 hours pay. Will get more work if your recording in on the net. the only ones worried are the record companies, cut out the middle man.

Indeed Examinator I think it's incredibly revolting of that man indeed and believe he SHOULD be charged in precisely the same offense had he snuck a porno into a school video or, on a bizarre tangent, switched it with a saturday morning cartoon in a TV station.
Of course, having some jerkoff put up rubbish under a false alias is a great peeve of mine too (having tried to watch numerous shows just to find an 80s era music video playing instead).

well I have been Utubing for 4 years or so [about 70 videos made] and yes sound has been muted on a few, but thing is there is a constant change of rules [and in some case imitating my own display ideas and technology].

But main issue here would seem to be download because remember it is UTube that is hosting what user uploads. Initially it was easy to simply download someone else's video by going to temp file, then they encoded all that so it became almost impossible.

Then just recently they put a button there so anyone can download, so my thinking is that UTube must now be more squeaky clean about what they display in first place.

anyway here is a funny one where 2 days ago I did what yanks call a parody on Brokeback and no problems with UTube cept the announcement at Brokeback forum got deleted [because it upset the queers, pronked to "Gays"]. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJX9JwxC25k

Brokeback could almost have been filmed in New Zilend cept no gumboots

The source of these videos needs to be found. It could well be orchestrated since there are now many forces wanting to censor the internet. They create a crisis so the people will scream for self censorship and loss of liberties.London Bombings woman,"I will give up my liberties so I can be free from terrorism."

They seem to be able to find paedophiles on the net when they want to.I bet we don't find this source.

exactly my friend and the BS starts right here in this forum

IF the OP was genuine he/she would have simply given the link to the UTube so we could decide for ourselves, but the Minders here allowed his diatribe.

but you are correct that the whole of American Beauty revolves around the female nipple.

I just now proved that on UTube and will report further

Divorce Dr if you can ref the exact words from a polly matched with a video, then you know it is pretty genuine. It will be not taken out of context and you read the body language. There is a lot of BS there but don't you have good crap detectors?

Neither you or I are the font of all wisdom and the masses have a lot more nous than we give them credit for.The only problem for the masses is our very poor education system that has very narrow parameters enlightenment.

NFI what you are talking to here Ajay. I would simply say to you to try to upload a video and you will understand how the system works, meaning that as soon as you try to upload "porn" to UTube they zap or restrict it, and they actually WATCH the video so you can call it Sound of Music if you want.

But there are TWO nasties here:

1 what IS porn and we see here I uploaded what in a "proper" country would be considered porn ie Ennis pulling down Jack's strides, spitting on hands, rubbing on dick and shafting Jack with Jack moaning in pain/extasy. But in American Beauty as we know THIS is not porn but is the behaviour the american govt [for obvious reasons] want to export [to oil producing countries].

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJX9JwxC25k

then I uploaded a video showing Jack being seduced by his wife and her breasts flash on the screen for a milli second, whereupon the whole of the FBI jumps in and bans my video [in USA]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyIZZGITatw

2 The REASON the tit one was banned is given as a "copyright" excuse but as you see the non tit video was from the same movie of Brokeback Mountain, per:

"Your video, xxxx, may have content that is owned or licensed by NBC Universal.
No action is required on your part; however, if you're interested in learning how this affects your video, please visit xxxx for more information." [and when you go there it says not avail in America the Beautiful]

the sad part is because of PC in USA nobody ever questions this

the sadder news is because of the "congoline effect" the SAME PC now infiltrates Oz, and forums such as this are used by OUR govt [via "the usual suspects"] to convince the people not to ever think.
