"I just made fun of yet another OLO redneck rant about asylum seekers"

Yes well that says it all CJ. You do have a bizarre notion of 'fun'.

"I'll leave the offensive diatribes to you and your hater mates."

Ahhhhh hahahahaa!! The day that you leave offensive diatribe to other people will be the day you drop dead!! !!

One thing has become patently clear from the recent asylum seeker drama, as if it wasn't perfectly obvious beforehand. This is that your argument on the whole subject is just complete bunkum and that strong border-protection policies that put an end to this whole saga are ESSENTIAL.

Then as I've said a hundred times before, we should boost our input into refugee issues via our formal offshore program, including a doubling of our annual intake.

I do not see how it is redneck, which is rate hate speech btw. Taxpayers have every right to decide how their money is spent and clear this was a waste of money. The war is over. Few have good reason to flee. Most Sri Lankans repatriated so also a waste of their money also..and waste of lives in some cases. How is this redneck? Goodness you just brim over with hatred for fellow man. I guess you must have the white South African gene..wow look at all that exploitable labour floating on our high seas! What do they do? Oh yes they can do all the rubbish work the like of CJ do not want to do as there medical degrees probably will not be recognised here? Racist? yep. So if anyone racist, it is those that think it is ok they can be enslaved into jobs that simply do not pay a living wage. History repeats.

Belly,
I don't know what Hasbeens politics are, nor care, but his critisisms of Rudd are valid. As I recall Rudd did state they would not reach Aus. There has been a special deal been done.

After over 12 months and a couple of thousand illegals, going from near zero, and some 52 deaths later, even you would have to conceed that it was a mistake to give in to the extreme left and soften the measures that kept the illegals out for the last 4-5 years.

It took the previous government about 5 years to come to the realization that the only way to get the illegals to stop coming is to deny them what they are after. Hence the 'Pacific solution' and TPVs. This government should learn from that but the 'Indonesian solution' has fallen over.

Now they have given in to blackmail by those who hijacked the Oceanic Viking.

This mornings news says the Indonesians are considering, or preparing, one of their Navy ships to take the 255 'squatters' on board the other boat, back to Sri Lanka. Their patience is apparently running out.

Interesting to see what happens there. If they are taken to Sri Lanka, it will do more to deter others from trying the trip than all the government deals and diplomacy that has taken place. We should be advertising, in Sri Lanka, about the dangers, when the 11 drowned, and also the few we just forcebly sent back.

The only way to stop the boats coming is to deny them access to Aus and no permanent residency.

CJ; now tahts a crkca up. If olny it was imoparnt for the egnilsh lagnuge to be spetl rhgit you may wel hvae a viadl pinot.

But, as you obviously are able to interpret what was said, even though it may not have been correctly spelt, this simply proves that spelling is over rated and that society needs to ‘move on’ as ‘gen Y’ and ‘gen X’ don’t care about ‘correct spelling’, nor do they care about the old ‘fuddy-duddies’ that can’t help but correct others and, as they will be our future leaders, you had best get used to it.

Times have changed, like it or not!

Banjo, Well said.

Ah Belly; understand what it tells us, my team flogs yours.

That statement really shows that to you, this is all just a big game.

In politics, a winning party needs only be better than the other side and that's a shame because it also means that they don't need to be any better than they have to.

In business, on the other hand, one has to be able to run a business in a 'profitable manner' otherwise they simply fail and fade away.

It is for this reason that I feel the country should be run as a business, not a 'game' as you see it.

Just remember. Anyone who does not run a business is totally relient on the people who do run businesses, both large and small.

Now I suggest that 'your side' start working on how to replenish the billions they have wasted, in record time.

Simply throwing money at a problem (stimulus packages) has done little or nothing towards creating jobs and, as to their attempt at 'creating employment' (solar and insulation), what a joke this has turned out to be!
