Madoff just got 150 years jail for the biggest ponzi sceme ever..his wife aided and abetted yet looks like keeping her wealth...but if you pay cash..for a stolen car you lose your car and the cash

we have the famous case of alan bond...and his now wealthy wife..even now the children of michael jackson may not actually be his children, but joe jackson looks like he will be allowed to do a michael jackson to them...did he adopt them or buy them?

the thing is there is one law for the rich..thousands of other laws for everyone else..like the too rich to fail get bailouts..while the poor lose their houses..my question is where is the justice..[or is it just us]..or maybe ...lol...just me

It's just you.

It's best to stop worrying about the possibly illegal family affairs of strangers you've never met, and get on with your 'own' life. Believe me, that's good advice.

Hey OUG, Hiya Master.

It matters, Everything matters.

All of it matters.

The proceeds of crime should be removed from the criminal so no one around them can benefit from their crime either. Otherwise what is the point.

No, those kids shouldn't be with that couple if all that stuff is true.

As soon as everything matters to everyone, everyone will matter.

Might pop out for a smoke... that did my head in...

Dear OUG,

There's not the slightest evidence that criminal
behaviour is any more common at the lower level
of society than at any other. It seems, rather,
that people of different statuses have different
opportunities to commit various crimes.

The criminal poor are hardly in a position to embezzle
trust funds or manipulate the price of stocks, so they
resort to high-risk, low-yield crimes such as larceny
and burglary.

Whereas the criminal non-poor have no need to hold
up gas stations or snatch purses, so they resort to
low-risk, high yield crimes such as tax evasion,
toxic pollution, copyright infringement, stock
manipulation, price fixing, corruption of public
officials, embezzlement and fraud.

White-collar and corporate crime is generally
regarded with more tolerance than other forms of crime,
even though their economic impact is much greater.
As we know the greater ability of high-status people
to evade the full impact of the law is a fact of life.
Usually about 60% of people convicted of white-collar
crime serve no jail terms, and of those who are jailed,
the greater majority serve very little time in jail.

There's very little we can do about it.

Perhaps, the Courts' "relation back" power to reverse transactions should be changed from six months to six years.

Albeit, international money transfer make it hard. Even Hitler didn't invade Switzerland. The rich and power will have their secrets.

the question was supposed to be more extensive...but i have noticed long posts dont get through...anyhow the issue is far reaching..it could have included the loot and plunder of war...how would it be then

or like we looted indiginous nations to put stuff into our museums..[or how about all them collections we have collected by famouse genetisists or botanists..or birds egg's or butterfly collectors...

but stop and think for a moment..[what if it was about getting return of the natzi plunder]..for some reason that issue makes the news...no matter who has it now

we focus on narrow definitions of crimes,or definite petty crime..done mainly by the poor to survive...who when they get caught by and large dont have the legal representation in the courts the wealthy have...

its often cop a guilty plea or we will bust your wife as well...yet the rich get away with the things poor simply cant..plus at the end still keep their stolen advantage...

its easy to take say a vehicle from a poor person, who somehow ended up bying a stolen vehicle/rebadged i think is the term...then leave it stitting in an evidence yard,..for years while the justice system does that it is designed to do..lock up the poor and let the rich do as they chose

anyhow i guess its a dumb topic..we all must know inherantly its not about getting the big guys...its about getting the poor idiots,..who think to do petty crime...yeah i know a weak ending..my heart isnt in this topic..its futile to complain..its just the way it is

KING LEAR And the creature run from the cur? There thou
mightst behold the great image of authority: a
dog's obeyed in office.
Thou rascal beadle, hold thy bloody hand!
Why dost thou lash that whore? Strip thine own back;
Thou hotly lust'st to use her in that kind
For which thou whipp'st her. The usurer hangs the cozener.
Through tatter'd clothes small vices do appear;
Robes and furr'd gowns hide all. Plate sin with gold,
And the strong lance of justice hurtless breaks:
Arm it in rags, a pigmy's straw does pierce it.
None does offend, none, I say, none; I'll able 'em:
Take that of me, my friend, who have the power
To seal the accuser's lips. Get thee glass eyes;
And like a scurvy politician, seem
To see the things thou dost not. Now, now, now, now:
Pull off my boots: harder, harder: so.

After Lear is rejected by his ungrateful two daughters he not only looks at his familial relationships he examines his society. There is so much in the above passage. Authority and those who possess it are often arbitrary (a dog's obeyed in office.) That would also seem to challenge the divine right of kings and the institution of monarchy itself in five words. The rich are immune from accountability. One law for all is an idea that did not reach fruition until the French and American revolutions.

UOG to your question regarding Bernard Madoff … “Bad title” which effectively describes the proceeds of crime cannot be transferred from the criminal to another, be they wife, family member or stranger.

Regarding Alan Bond, not all his income or wealth was illegally gained and (I might stand to be corrected) I think his first wife was the original source for the funds upon which the Bond Business wealthy was founded.

To the matter of people losing their homes and the rich being bailed out, you will find the baiol outs were funded in USA by the Democrats and challenged by the Republicans and in Australia squandered by the Socialist and objected to by the conservative liberals.

“or like we looted indiginous nations to put stuff into our museums..[or how about all them collections we have collected by famouse genetisists or botanists..or birds egg's or butterfly collectors...”

It is just too silly to apply the standards and values of today to the behavior of previous generations.

Maybe the Elgin Marbles should be returned and maybe the Danes should hand back the “Dane-geld” they obtained through the criminal intimidation of the Anglo-Saxons… ?

You are trying to bring down the moon by throwing snowballs at it … in short a pointless waste of time which most people can readily acknowledge and move on from.

To "Master" I ponder, based on your first post to UOG, what exactly do you think you a "Master" of?
