A New Punctuation Mark

A new punctuation mark needs to be created that could serve certain purposes.
A good example would be getting out of useless forum topics that have been diverted beyond recall by supposed contributors who actually want to destroy any meaningful thread.
I propose some symbol that looks like a small pretzel with an arrow pointing to the right, mid centre for a small distance.
It could equally point to the left for those who write Arabic, or either up or down in more esoteric texts.
The main feature of the symbol would be its ability to say something like –
I’ve finished saying what I need to say/ goodbye and sod anyone who comments afterwards.

I have already spoken with and come to agreement with Murdoch and Gates and have lodged patent application # X (deleted for confidentiality purposes)

In a few months time I have reasonable expectation that I’ll be able to depart any forum destroyed by fools without losing face merely by making use of my own squiggle.
Such a shame that I cannot use it now without giving away the secret.

You know, following your lead, I had a thought that maybe my next forum moniker should be A NON GAY, since I respect gay people. But then I thought, no, maybe people might get the wrong idea.

I had the wrong idea about you for sure, Mr Drama Llama.

You NON FARMER have started several threads complaining about other posters.
You have taken part in a few more, same thought, only you get it right.
Have you looked at you own posts? try that look at each of them once again.
Old age can be a reason for entrenched grumpyness.
Some times it helps to smile.
If its not age maybe its worth looking into.

Makes me wonder why some are here, if only to complain and harp, what's the point? Perhaps a better mark would be a pair of brackets, containing a large pair of letters...an F and an O !

Just while we're on the topic of inane....ummm....topics...I wanna know why we have 'can't', 'wouldn't', 'won't' etc in the English language but 'they' won't - SEE, another one - bow to my will and include 'Amn't' - as in, 'Am not'...

You are a bit of a whinger, mate. We are all human here. Are you something different?

I agree that subjects do get hijacked, and that's because some of us pay too much attention to other poster's opinions, rather than sticking to the opinions of the person who started the thread or, in the case of the main forum, the people who contribute articles. We are all guilty of this.

We don't need to do anything about it. We cannot do anything about it without having more rules than the few sensible ones set by the editor. More rules mean less freedom.

Go with the flow, or opt out. It's all about the freedom to have a say. Where else are you going to get that?

Like it. I am surprised, like txting that forum language hasn't evolved more. Beyond TTFN, IMO etc.

Hey TBO - is "to be honest" yeah? But I looked it up and it is spanish for Time Between Overhaul. How did it get to mean anything else?

And there is forum ettiquette aye like, do not, in an argument critique spelling, just looks very uncool. Do not repeatidly announce you are not talking to a person.

And I've only been online a couple of months but the rules were the same before my 13 year break.

Is there a few I don't know about that someone should warn me now?

Oh and one where if you change your user name you should announce it?

Dear Non Farmer,

If getting your message across by means of
a new punctuation mark means that much to
you - go for it. Just make sure that people
understand what your mark means - otherwise
it won't have your desired impact.

Personally, I prefer to use language -instead
of signage. I find it much more satisfying
to use words. Afterall man's greatest
inheritance is the gift of speech.

The gift of words is the gift of imagination.

Well what a lot of losers.
This demonstrates perfectly how completely reactionary you lot are.
Here I am with a multi-million dollar deal signed up.
All you can do is whinge about having to buy new keyboards.
Work it out.
That's exactly why my proposal was accepted.
Keyboards are cheap.
Your sort will grumble for a few days - then finally creep into your retail outlet and buy one.
Regardez - I'll be rich while you whinge.
I'll enjoy watching.

Oh. Before I go; a hint.
It'll be known as the GSOH (TM)keyboard
In the meantime an interim protocol has been decided.
Anyone in the next few months concluding messages into forums with the 'affirmative post-amble - "Byeeee!" - will be able to plug in their new keyboards without comprehensive re-formatting of their systems.

"Byeeee".

Dear Non Farmer,

Does this mean that you'll now be able to
buy that Harley you've always wanted?

Or a new car?

Or maybe both?

Good luck to you!

Dear Foxy,
Take my word. Harleys are crapola.
I entertained the idea of buying one many years ago.
I came; I saw; and I decided they were crap.
That was 1973.
My opinion has not changed since despite being offered one or two for free.
I have had to ride the odd Harley. I have ridden the odd Harley.
My conclusion is that Harleys are odd and anyone silly enough to own one is equally odd.
I happen to prefer Velocettes.
Furthermore – I reject your ‘luck’.

Back to punctuation mark -
A - none of you have bothered to read what I've been saying, or -
B - for whatever reason you have been PRETENDING to react to my statements for your own reasons in a very disputative way. Keep that up and finally some reasonable people will begin to cotton on.
Meanwhile -
C - A fair lot of you seem to have written a fair deal that I'd usually accept as attitudes similar to my own -
D - yet when I try to express them (agree with you) - you all keep trying to shoot me down in flames.
This has me completely flummoxed.
E – From my angle I can see why K’Ruddles has decided he’s had enough. All these noises about a double dissolution will be your fault..
F – But then I forget. Mr. Graham Y. is a Liberal – isn’t he?
That makes me the peasant within his firmament

ginger beer? I understand now thanks.
On a lunch room wall 25 years ago a bloke had pinned a cartoon.
2 weeks ago I could not spell ginger beer now I are one.
The cartoon did a good job of representing our latest engineer.
He liked it so much he took it home.
The cartoonist has risen up the ladder and I see him still, ginger beer?
Are they recycled? why is it workers say you can never train some?
