Our Olympics Hangover

Sydney produced the best Olympics ever at that time. The NSW Govt bureaucracies grew in proportion to their fear of failure. They did not fail. However the hype and elation was not contained post Olympics. The PS continued to grow at the expense of infrastucture and services.

Currently we have over 300,000 PS and it costs us over $21 billion to feed them. They have an average annual salary of $70,000 pa.This does not include super, long service,in service, out of service or workers comp ,which has 3 times the claims of private enterprise.Michael Coster said 2 yrs ago that we have 30,000 too many bureaucrats.Iemma prior the last election did a deal with the PS unions and the PS continued to grow.

NSW is basically broke.Next yr the Iemma Govt will have a deficit of $1 billion just on loss of stamp duty revenue alone. Our State is grinding to a halt.

Today Jeff Kennett extended his condolances to the people of NSW.He said that we have missed out on 16yrs of exceptional economic growth that may not be replicated ever again.According to Jeff,NSW may not recover for another 30 yrs due to a lack of infrastructure.

Barry O'Farrell today played politics and stopped the privatisation of our power.80% of NSW voters do not approve of the power sell off basically because they don't trust the Iemma Govt.

Why can't the Iemma Govt just do the honourable thing and resign in disgrace?

Dear Arjay,

They're not going to resign.
There's too many perks.

Besides, the electorate in NSW voted
yes, when they decided whether the state would
have fixed 4 year terms for elections.

So, now NSW is stuck with these guys.
And these guys aren't about to go willingly.
An election can't be called for until March 26th
2011.
