Interviewer: TONY JONES

Interviewees: JULIA & KEVIN.

TONY JONES: As prime minister and deputy prime minister how do the two of you divvy up the decision making process?

JULIA: Kevin decides on all the big issues. I make the little decisions.

TONY JONES: Can you give me a few examples of big issues?

JULIA: Should we have an Asian Union? How do we get rid of nuclear weapons? Do we apply the blowtorch to OPEC? How do we get a seat on the UN Security Council? What do we do about Mugabe? How do we save the whales? These are all the big issues where Kevin makes the decisions.

TONY JONES: OK, can you give me some examples of little issues?

JULIA: How do we fund private schools? How do we fund public schools? How do we reform education? How do we reform healthcare? How do we change the IR laws? These are all the little issues where I decide.

TONY JONES: And who decides on the budget?

KEVIN: Peter Costello.

Dear Steven,

Where and when did this interview take place?
Dates and places please.

As I don't get the Peter Costello connection?

I take it, it must have happened while the Libs
were still in power - right? Otherwise - Peter Costello
doesn't make sense.

Please explain...

I believe it was a joke, folks, based on the fact that the new Govt is slavishly implementing the policies of the previous one.

You guys really don't get it, do you?

Let me give you a few clues.

How much power does Australia have to influence the formation of an "Asian Union?"

How do you think Rudd and his "initiatives" look from the perspective of, say, Manmohan Singh?

(Try a certain New York based comedian who wears spectacles and has the initials WA)
