A newspaper report said that the Vatican was bringing out the body of a man who died back in the 1920's.
I wondered what the Health regulations might be.
Does anyone know?
We seem concerned about horse flu and other exotic diseases...why not a corpse from another age?
Would Customs search the casket or does the Vatican get an exemption?
Customs searches luggage looking for mummified animals that might carry disease... how do they feel about the body?
Does anyone apart from me feel that that lugging a body around the world is somewhat different?

Yes, that certainly seems odd. But then again, we have heard weirder things around here haven't we?

Only from the non-believers Bugsy who put aside God and Christ to look towards a great, golden, high-tech, computer driven age that will never fulfill its promises.
A New World Order in Europe and another Ministry of Love...that may spread as far as Australia.

That's it! I am now completely convinced that Gibo is a stoned-out uni student troll, just having a lend of us. He can't have typed that last post with a straight face, after having regaled us variously with tales of flying saucers, rampant witchcraft and deeds of derring-do with demons in his many previous posts to this forum.

The business with Pier Frassati is indeed fascinating and quite bizarre, but no more so than much of what we read here - which I think was Bugsy's point. And quite possibly Gibo's :)

Dear Gibo,

What newspaper article are you talking about?

Can you give us more details please?

We can't really comment if we don't know what you're talking about.

What does World Youth or Pier Frassati have to do with anything?

Please explain.

You guys just made up stories about me.
I said at the beginning I got born again as a Christian reading Stan Deyos THE COSMIC CONSPIRACY which discusses UFO technology, a New World Order, etc. and gives a wonderful preaching of Jesus' Salvation and a bit of the endtimes.
As for rampant witchcraft, I simply gave a few stories regarding my experiences with the subject.
I do have quite a bit of knowledge on the subject and I do know what goes on in the spirit realm. Several times Ive been under demon attack just like many other christians. Its nothing to get too worried about and I found it most interesting and wow! what a confirmation of faith.
And there is a new world order being built, though its darker than the one the original George Bush and Bob Hawke invited upon us.
In fact I would say even now it would be wise for many to leave Europe if its possible. Hitler had his black shirts...the coming antichrist will have his...and he is going to be far worse than Adolf. Check out the Beast of Revelation and/or read Revelation 13:16-18 about his microchip/mark on/in the right hand or forehead. They are chipping people now in diffent places. We are never to take that chip...Revelation 14:9-11. The Beast will have his Ministry of Love for those who dont conform. Millions will die resisting him...this we also believe. Its all in the Bible and on the (signs that we are in the endtimes) webiste as well. "Dont worry"... I have on my car dash..."trust Jesus".

Foxy.
The paper is Sydney Morning Herald weekend edition April 19-20 front page etc the story is "Catholic pin-up boys body to be displayed in Syndey".
Seems the Vatican has had him preserved for some years and named him a saint and is carrying him out to Australia for World Youth Day to parade him at Randwick I think.
I asked Customs if the casket could be used for smuggling and they said they were on the job and investigating anything coming into the country:)

Gooood early morning team:)

I found this about Pier Frassati...

http://www.bettnet.com/frassati/

"We, who by the grace of God are Catholics... must steel ourselves for the battle we shall certainly have to fight to fulfill our program and give our country, in the not too distant future, happier days and a morally healthy society, but to achieve this we need constant prayer to obtain from God that grace without which all our prayers are useless; organization and discipline to be ready for action at the right time; and finally, the sacrifice of our passion and of ourselves, because without that we cannot achieve our aim.”

2 things concern me about his quote.

1/ "are Catholics" .. I would NEVER not even in a million years, say "by the grace of God I am... X denomination". I cannot even say "I'm open Brethren"... I can only say "I (as a Christian) currently fellowship at an open Bretho Church"

2/ He speaks a lot about "our aims"... Battle....fight....fulfill out program... ready for action at the right time.....

Had he not said at the beginning "we are (by Grace) Catholics" I would probably see all those references as metaphoric and spiritual.

The Bible, has only one type of believer "Christian"..Christ's ones...
It has no protestant or catholic. If it worries you unbelieving mob when someone trots out 'Our denominational way or the highway' kind of thing.. It worries me much more. It bothers me when the Church of Christ claims it...with its mantra "Baptism is absolutely essential for salvation"...and it would bother me if the older captial B Bretho's come close to claiming that you are unspiritual if you take off your coat in the meeting on a 35deg day! I must be morphing into one of them :) because I often think that the chicks at our meetings in their spagetti strap shoulderless tops could errr.. cover up just a tad more.

But bringing this Frassati's body out? Good grief... its creepy..really..(haha fractelle..and you think "I'M" creepy 0_-)

Next we will hear "Oh..I touched his casket and I was suddenly healed"

Yikes.

Dear Gibo,

Thanks for explaining things, now I understand.

As you, David, and other posters, said, It is indeed rather strange of the Vatican to be involved in this bizarre activity.

Although, they brought in some Egyptian relics (Mummies), for an exhibition at some of the museums in our major cities a few years ago.

So I suppose it's a question of what kind of 'dead bodies' they bring in - to each his own. I'm sure there will be quite a few believers who will be lining up to view the body of a saint.

Boazy: << Next we will hear "Oh..I touched his casket and I was suddenly healed"

Yikes. >>

Imagine that! Somebody claiming miraculous healing by God. How extraordinary! Of course, rational people like Boazy and Gibo would never make any such claims, would they?

Hi CJ...

I'm using my own discernment here, so I cannot say "thus- it is"

The closest to the idea of healing through touching something connected to a 'saint' is that of Paul in Acts 19.

The passage is not 'teaching' this as a doctrine, but 'reporting' what apparently happened. The report might even be seriously embellished by the 'masses'....this kind of thing does happen.

-Paul healing in the name of Jesus. GUARANTEED ok.
-People 'healed' through touching some artifact or 'thing' which had come in contact with Paul..? more like 'popular magic' than true healing.

Please read this from Acts 19

8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. 9But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. 10This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.

11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.

13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." 14Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15(One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" 16Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding

COMMENT
That last paragraph shows the diff between 'magic' and 'true healing'.

So, Boazy, when Gibo talks about 'healing' is he talking about Paul, or about popular magic? Or is he just insane? Seeing as he has been attacked by demons and all. I don't know if he ran about naked an bleeding though. That would be frowned upon in the police force one would think.

I only ask because he sounds like the Benny Hinn type of Christian and we all know how you feel about him.

Havent been attacked by a demon for years Bugsy.
Not since the early years of my christianity. They gave up... I was too strong. I feared God more than the pansy attacks from fallen spirits.
Its not uncommon though and not just to christians.
Click on Ghost attacked me, says spooked Alba.
People that are non-beleivers cop it from time to time.
Part of satans plan is to put his existance into myth...but not always is he successful. He's more than just a funny guy in a red suit with a pitchfork. He has an evil heart full of hate about his being kicked out of Heaven (see Lucifer).

Dear Bugsy....

While I might not express myself in the same way bro Gibo does.. there is a reality behind all that he says. The dimensions of which.. are known to God, not me.

I've seen it, and also seen indigenous pastors deal with it in the name of Jesus.. with a confident sensitivity much sharper than my own.

The events recounted in Acts, are real, and with your excellent intellectual credentials, I do believe you can see it, even though for the sake of 'image' :) you deliver stinging rebuttals here.

Hmm..I'm guessing you are at about.. the Litani River on the road to Damascus :) Watch out for bright lights and penetrating voices.
May the Lord bless and guide you.

Boaz,
[1] “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (II Cor. 11:13-15).

Within the referential frame of your beliefs, could II Cor 11:13-15, refer to the Churches and their ministeries?
