Over the past year I've been looking, via the internet, at house (with land) prices in relatively remote rural/regional locations. Once I even went to look at one of these houses. It was in a tiny rural village in rural NSW. The house was eventually bought by someone else for $33,000. It was an old, wooden house on a lovely large block of land. The house was actually in "very" good condition for it's age and came fully furnished with nice furniture.

Bargains of such value are extremely rare, but they exist. There's many, many house/land deals in remote areas (often in or near towns that have most services) for about $80,000 or so. **BUT**, I'm talking about super, dooper cheap prices of under $50,000

Does anyone have any advice on the best ways (either on the internet or elsewhere) to seek out these really cheap house/land deals of about $50,000 or less? Doing the "usual" internet property searches brings up the occasional bargain in this price range, but I'm wondering if there's a better way to target the specific type of property I'm interested in. Also, I'm talking about "anywhere" in Australia, no matter how isolated.

So, what's the best, most efficient way to seek out this type of property?

Thanks.

Hi Philips. The best way is to pick an area you like and go and spend a day or so there. I like Armidale, NSW and may one day end up there, though looking at the local internet letters to editors column (Armidale Express) there may be problems getting a GP. Some doctors already have shut their books to new patients...so check out your doctors before you go. Armidale is real cold in winter and gets the occasional hail storm that does do damage. Get out on the ground wherever you choose and do a little footwork. One guy who once lived in Dorrigo, NSW told me face to face, "jump up and down on the diving board a few times before you jump in". He was tlaking about Dorrigo and despite being a lovely high altitude range town... it turned me off in the end. Check towns out. Many have quiet high crime levels like the western far west towns. Dubbo too. Visit real estates and speak to them. There are sometimes bargains in shopping mall advertising boards. I saw a 65,000 wooden house in a glass display in Glen Innes NSW a few years ago that I might have bought. Sadly its a witchcraft town... so as a christian I decided I couldnt live there what with their Celtic festival and the occult people that pass through the town at festival time. A creepy place for me. Can I give you advice... and it does come from my heart. Dont go north of Ballina NSW. There are a number of visions and prophecies around the christian churches of Australia about The Lord allowing an invader as far south as Byron Bay, NSW and North West Cape, WA because of the sins of the people. Ive just written a small book on the subject and can e-mail it to you if you want a copy. Dont go into Queensland. I left in December, 2006 because of all of the revelations I had come across. Sorry if that sounds "different" but Ive been collecting revelations since 1989.

It sounds delusional and almost certainly schizophrenic. If you want to get better, there are very good treatments available these days to address your symptoms, but you'll have to actively seek them out. Good luck.

Phillips I hope it does not turn you of we sold our Church's! small country villages on the mid north coast of NSW have such homes.
Start at Hexham and look north but west as prices are higher near the coast.
Those Church's do a nice cup of tea and sold ten years ago for $50.000
Homes near the coast say 40klm? very good condition $150.000
Old timber away from coast? as low as you wish sometimes with 50 or 60 acres of lantana .
May sound like I am being nasty but I am not old Church's are a very good place to look, in truth I am sure you could buy one in that range.
I have the history of the fish and chip/tea house church in my small town.
In truth so much free work and goods went into building it during the great depression it should have been a gift to the town but the fish is great.

What do you know of anything christian Sancho.
Witchcraft people had been sacrificing chickens up at the standing ring of stones above the town(small stonehenge replica). Cops were involved in hiding this from the public because prominent townsfolk have been involved in the occult. This is how the Celtic festival got started up in the first place...against many in the townsfolks' wishes.
It all came out in the local newspaper in 2005 thanks to a brave editor. Those revelations of an invader are genuine. We wait as christians to see what age it will happen in.
