Child Care Integration Into Primary Schools

It seems so obvious and so simple to solve the childcare problem in Australia on a national basis but it seems in politics nothing can be put into common sense. How hard would it really be to integrate a childcare program into existing state primary schools all over Australia controlled by the government?

Existing childcare centers would remain as they are but could be referred to as the Private Childcare System and the integrated Government Childcare System as the other option.

People with low incomes set at a national level would qualify for subsidized Government Childcare similar to that as offered by Medicare and charged at an affordable realistic rate determined by the government. People with obvious higher incomes will then be able to use the Private Childcare System, which they must pay at the going rate.

State primary schools are in most cases large enough to accommodate programs like this immediately and could be up and running in many areas in no time. Staffing would be regulated and government controlled to national standards. Many schools could regulate existing rooms to accommodate the changes immediately with little effort. The government would need to supply extra rooms and secured areas as required on a case by case basis.

It may too be an opportunity to get existing classrooms out of transportables?
