I hope the 5 get a gentle fine. What they did was wrong but I cant help feeling they did us a service just the same by speaking out on Islam.
Seen "Children of Men"? Our own apathy toward the creep of Islam could bring that to Australia. Its almost time in Great Britain for a takeover attempt...maybe not so far away for us. Posted by Gibo, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 10:25:34 AM

It's a damn shame that the right wing elements are seizing control of the NSW liberals.
It basically ensures that reasonably centrist people will desert the party in droves, when they're already in a weak position. Essentially they're ensuring the supremacy of Labor for a long while, when a competent opposition is sorely needed. There was a great piece written about the NSW conservative factions in 2005, by Gerard Noonan. Take a look here. A great deal of it still applies, even though Brogden's obviously been replaced as leader. Brogden wouldn't crack down on the right wing elements, saying there was room for all the views in the party. Farrell on the other hand, isn't strong enough to. Anyhow, for those interested, the piece is here: http://www.smh.com.au/news/National/On-a-right-wing-and-a-prayer/2005/04/01/1112302234006.html Posted by TurnRightThenLeft, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 10:40:12 AM

Gibo...i find it ironic that Children of Men has nothing to do with Islam and everything to do with the country it was filmed in and the direction of western governments this past decade or more: the vast increases of money being thrown in the direction of police by government bureacrats, surveillance, the reduction of privacy and the media and public/socially driven witch hunts that you are incidentally a part of (by encouraging suspicion and fear of Islam and it's adherents).
Yes Islam is oppressive but they're not much different from the religious parasites we have in Australia who have their teeth sunk into our pollies. I see Islam only fighting for the right to dictate their values to us. They will have to become much more mainstream to do so and the end result would be almost identical....if they even had the numbers which they don't, they are an insignificant amount of the population and will be long after you die (and go to hell). You must have seen the PG version Steel. Its was really about how England had allowed itself to become so polluted by multiculturalism that she no longer was what she was; and war had broken out against Islamic extremists.
It was a clear warning about Islamic takeover with a "first child for years" only thin covering for the warning. Posted by Gibo, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 4:21:47 PM

Gibo do you understand what those 5 did? I doubt you do, it had nothing to do with Islam.
In fact it was an attempt to use racism and lies to win votes. I find evidence in your post of a blindness to the need for honesty in politics of a much greater standard than that. The NSW conservative right is in control and harming their side of politics and this state. I truly am grateful that not all Christians would find reason to support such as these 5. I wasnt supporting the 5 Belly. I just appreciate any exposure of Islams quiet plans. Even a mention on the tract. Ive been to Islamic lectures and its quite scary. Inch by inch they move quietly forward...seducing politicians and wooing the general public. Im not into politics either. Too manybrethren have moved into that field and its got nothing to do with gathering in the harvest or what Revelation is going to bring.

In that case, can i recommend these groups for your immediate attention, who already have done so over the last several decades. Christians, 'Concerned Parents/Family' groups, Feminists, Authoritarians. All of them are as pestilential as Islamists Posted by Steel, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 7:00:43 PM

If I wished I could use the thread to highlight some anti Christian thoughts.
But I a non believer know Most Christians do not think like that. I could skate so very near to the edge of xenophobia like or even racist comments. I could even highlight my true concerns at SOME from another group. But in a forum about Australian politics this ALP voter is concerned that so very many actions of the NSW Liberal right are killing that party. Including a member of federal Parliament unable to join his own branch of his party. And 5 maybe many more producing a racist document, yes racist , claiming the ALP supported the Bali Murderers, and that Muslims should vote ALP. A fraud and a crime I speak of the last elected from opposition leader of this party begging his party to be inclusive and to reform. And its current state president saying they can not win the 2011 election! Yet we debate about religion and race? The fact is we fail ourselves if every debate ends up being about religion. This state needs desperately to see debate about politics and both party's need to be accountable. Just think for a second of the failures of this state government and that the opposition thinks so far out from an election they can not win! Posted by Belly, Thursday, 27 March 2008 4:49:18 AM

We see the foolish 5 who put that lieing one pager out about to appear in court and in the same week?
The new Liberal Member for the federal seat of Cook bared from being a member of his own branch.
In touching on the state of politics in NSW in past threads some have decried any link to bad oppositions to bad government.
Clearly a sign they do not understand politics.
You can not bake a cake without eggs and flour and good government is not as likely without meaningful opposition.
To see men like Nick Grienner nearly beg for unity and democracy in the Branch's is one thing but the state party president wrote the party's chances in the 2011 election of without change.
A taint is on conservative politics in this state and just maybe the NSW conservative right has national power it miss uses.
