Mayor Bloomberg of New York City just announced that they are going to use these Microturbines for apartment buildings(and maybe hybrid buses). They can run on natural gas, waste gas, biogas, as well as liquid fuels. They require no oil or lubrication to run.

Why can’t every city use these?

This will help cut greenhouse gases and cut back on our dependency on foreign oil.

e-mail your local and state government about these.

They even take the waste heat generated from the turbine process and turn it into thermal energy that can be used for heating or coolin

This looks like spam to me, but I thought I would let it through because it seemed to have potential for discussion. I guess decentralised power generation is where it is all heading.

Thank you for allowing this. I can see why this looks like spam. The point of the post is to inform people here that we do now have the technology to reduce emissions and reduce energy use. It is now also economic feasible to do so with on site generation.

But big business and big oil will try to supress this. Don't let them.

Thank you

I will definitely be writing to my local council, my federal MP, and the Premier of my state. If enough of us approach our politicians - they may just look into the matter. At least its worth a try.

Don't get all excited about this.
Such a system would require significant technical maintenance.
Also how are you going to get the gas to the machine ?
Bring it on a diesel powered truck ?
Not sure your neighbours would be too happy with a gas turbine
screaming away next door.

All in all I think it would be uphill trying to get better efficiency
than what comes down the wires now.

Do you really think you could afford the electricity it produces ?

Sorry to be a wet blanket but there are too many silver bullets flying
around fired by politicians let alone everyone else having a go.
