I too am dismayed at the blatant erosion of democracy we've witnessed in America at the hands of the Bush administration. The Patriot Act and the serious question marks hanging over the 2000 and 2004 elections are enough to send shivers down spine of anyone living in the Western world.

Let's hope Australia can learn some lessons from America's dwindling democracy and save what little we have left before we get to that extent. The fall of the Howard Government was a good start, although they were well on their way to stuffing things up with some of the the anti-terror laws. Thank goodness we don't have an electronic voting system – yet.

In regards to your link, I remember Pericles pointing out to you not so long ago how old it is and that there would have been more developments since then, had there been any credit to Sada's claims considering what they would have meant.

In fact, I went searching through all your posts at http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/user.asp?id=1368&show=history for terms such as “WMD”, “Sada”, etc. in an attempt to find the last time you brought this up, along with the response from Pericles; and although I didn't find it, I was amazed to see how many times you have had it pointed out to you just how sketchy and questionable Sada's claims are. Yet here you are again, pointing it out as if it were the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So I won't even bother repeating what everyone has already explained to you about this.

So, Saddam's WMD are OK in Syria, but just not Iraq hey? If the US government was serious about international security, then they would never let it go considering what a threat they would have posed. Perhaps they did investigate the claims and found them to be false? Or could it be that the war in Iraq has very little to do with international security and peace in the middle-east..?

I'd say “you be the judge of that”, but that's not looking like it would be a very good idea so far.
