People like cow/sheep! and what the hell are we doing eating our Aussie icon. I think we Australians are the only ones that does it.
Its all down to the taste of the consumer. Yes cows and sheep fart a lot, but there numbers that cause this are due to our overwhelming populations, and this is what the problem is, not the cow.

oh no, Skippy steaks sit side by side with beef, pork and lamb in my local supermarket and regularly find their way onto my meal plate.

Roo is too good to waste of feeding to critters, enjoy the bounty of one of our national crest bearers, the other one is supposed to be pretty good too (Emu) but I have personally yet to munch on that.
