Is the media only giving to the public what they want us to hear? Many a christian friend over the years has suggested only an edited version, thanks to the mighty media magnate with the personal agenda, actually reaches the general public; and nothing much about Christianity.
A few years ago (Saturday November 22, 1997) the Daily Telegraph Sydney ran a story on how the CIA had come across a strange shape on Mt. Ararat, Turkey (1949 the first air photographs of the site we processed, then the story hidden away) that they subsequently called the "Ararat Anomoly"... which actually appears to be the remains of Noahs Ark.
Once only did this story appear in the DT and never again. It was like a blunder had been made in disclosing the news and was rectified with the following silence.
Noahs Ark if so found is a huge story with global social consequences. It confirms Gods Word as truth.
And the Iraq war... is that news doctored to suit a certain slant? Do we hear the full story? Some say no. What is the real story about Islam? Are we privy to its full global plan? Are we under threat here in Australia from radicals or is it nothing much of concern?
Does the media stand above us in order to control our thinking? Are they too powerful?

What is the truth?

Who knows the truth?.

I always believed that truth is what the majority believe. Social truth is designed to minimise the impact on society. Rome designed the truth for hundreds of years for their specific agenda. So did Egypt, So DOES the current Administration and all its minions. John Howard sits on the 6 o'clock news and gives you a dose of reality that suits his agenda. On and on it goes.

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! lol, couldn't help it. But honestly, you couldn't.

There's a million different variations on reality. It's just a case of you sifting through the BS and making a decision. Could society REALLY handle the reality of Aliens?...doubt it. How would that change us if it was a truth. WOuld we stay stabilized, or would it be 'the iceberg that sunk the unsinkable Titanic'?.

I believe 'religous science' (guess their agenda) chased down the Ararat story. It's up to you to find it.

Truth appears to be pretty subjective. For instance, Gibo, your truth appears to involve prophecies and demons.

For the rest of us, that's about as far from truth as you can get, so it doesn't really surprise me that you have issues with the media.

Has anyone else counted the number of obvious errors in news and
current affairs programs on subjects of which you have intimate knowledge ?

The number is truly worrying because of implication on the number of
errors in subjects of which you have only limited knowledge.

There is hardly a day goes by without being able to say that some
news comment is absolute rubbish.

I note two issues:

1. People should not rely upon the media for their information because the media are a commercial enterprise not some type of benevolent voluntary window to the world for people.

2. The media should realise that many if not most people rely upon them for an education about current events and should raise their ethical standards as 1 probably won't happen any time soon.

You won't read the truth until all media is independent of any political influence.

When the media does reveal a 'big' story, it is usually quickly followed by stories of sports 'heroes' or some feel-good tripe to entice the wandering mind away from the big picture..

Good enough for Joe Six-pack.
