Now U.S. War Secretary Pete Hegseth plans to make the military execution by firing squad of former Army major Nidal Hasan a public spectacle, live streamed for our fun and amusement. I presume, the kiddies can watch the fella convulse in his death throes on Tic-Tok, we might even get the kiddies performing a new dance at the school concert the 'Hasan Wriggle'. Hasan was found guilty of killing 13 people in 2009.
Presently in Australia all major political parties opposes the death penalty, I'm not sure what One Nation's position is. Far right parties like One Nation and their supporters tend to favour capital punishment.
My question is; Is there any place for the death penalty in our society, and if so should it be made a public spectacle?
