With a Melbourne Cup size field of 34 starters, and with none of the major parties standing a candidate, Nigel Farage the leader of the Reform UK Party, managed to win his own seat of Clacton, in a by-election. The by-election was called when Nigel resigned the seat, after he was accused of pocketing 5 million pounds in undeclared donations from a cryptocurrency tycoon located in Thailand. Short of a politician taking undeclared donations from the Mafia, that might be seen as, not a nice thing to do by some, but that's another story.

The real story from this by-election was the fantastic result for the second placed candidate, Count Binface, the count is easily recognised, as the intergalactic space warrior who wears a garbage bin on his head in public, somewhat fitting for a politician, don't you agree? The Count managed to score 27% of the popular vote. I attribute his success to his solid political manifesto. Count Binface had the policies that cut through with voters, including a cap of 99p on all 99 Flake Ice Creams, excellent innovative progressive policy.

As the count didn't actually win the election, he is now at a loose end. Australia needs a Count Binface! I suggest as both Albo and Angus have been ineffective at countering the popularity of the Lovely Pauline, that they don garbage bins upon their heads, re-brand themselves as intergalactic space warriors, and go on the attack! It can't be any worse than they are doing now.
