Indyvidual,

Yes. It's our own (the West's) fault. Can't blame the immigrants who are encouraged to come here, by the same idiot political class and urgers who actually encourage them to cling to the mores of the backward countries that they wanted to leave.

Hi Ipso Fatso,

"In the short term, extended migration can be vastly unsettling.
But over a longish time, it all settles down.
We reach a kind of 'averaged out' way of life."

Totally agree, what I have found is the first generation of new arrivals, find it hard to adapt, socially and culturally, the second generation find it easier, as they have greater contact with the local environment. Children of migrants, adapt extremely well, they don't have that kinship with another location. I have found migrants who come here, as skilled and educated, adapt very quickly, particularly as nearly all understand, language and the general way Australia acts. I have a very good friend who came from Turkey, many years ago now. A qualified engineers, both he and his wife, very well educated. They had the same problems many Australian confront, getting settled, buying a house, raising a family etc, they have not surprisingly been very successful in Australia, as have their children been a success.

Indyvidual,

America's John Adams agreed, saying, "There was never a democracy yet that did not commit suicide”.

Up until his death in 1826 John Adams would have known a world that had made very few experiments with democracy. He would have been most familiar with the French Revolution, which was a social experiment in democracy, which began reasonably well with the First Republic beginning in 1792, but with internal unrest, the First Republic was short lived and failed, and one year later the Reign of Terror began, led by radicals. In turn any semblance of democracy was finally replaced by Napoleon Bonaparte’s military dictatorship in 1799.

Indyvidual,

Australians have not lost their identities by accident. We've fallen for the Leftist rot of not defending our democratic traditions. Doing so is “racist” and exclusive according to the Leftist traitors.

Pulse and YouGov now show that 46% of Australians say multiculturalism has definitely been a failure, and that number will rise, with more that half the population uneasy about it, as arrogant politicians, advised by unelected bureaucrats, keep pushing for mass immigration to prop up the failing economy (instead of increasing productivity), to divide and conquer as social cohesion dissipates, with the madman Albanese barking about how he believes in ‘cohesion’.

Confidence that Albanese & Co know what they are doing no longer exists.

Most people are “alarmed” by the erosion of Australian identity “under the guise of diversity”. The ‘diversity is strength’ mantra from the Left loons is a contradiction that only they are capable of coming up with.

Does Australia still have a confident national culture which newcomers are expected to join? No! We've gone back to the old culture cringe. We no longer know who we are.

Many new arrivals expect us to accommodate their grievances, hatreds, and nasty habits.

The hard Left lunatic, Albanese, helps them out by barking that “Australia is no longer who we are”. What a disgraceful creature he is!

The good immigrants from the UK and Europe didn't try to rewrite our history. They got stuck in and joined us. Our politicians weren't lunatics like Albanese those days. Now, we've got him and his ilk, and the dregs of the world coming here. Plus the return of scum who broke the law to do a spot of terrorism overseas. Nice!
