I have always believed the 'Aukus Deal' is a con job by a fast talking used sub salesman from America, on that little ole' boy from Australia. From the start when the Morrison government had to pay the Frogs $830 million in compo for nothing, all because of their botched submarine deal, at least their subs were new!
Now we've had our wet behind the ears War Minster Dicky Marles come back from a warmongers talk fest in Singapore with the "good news"; "All's great with our American submarine deal, its full steam ahead...by the way.... um... the subs we're getting are not exactly new...um... they're SECOND HAND, and a bargain at only $370 billion". The Americans assured Dicky that the trillion miles on the clock will not affect the performance of the 1999 model subs in any way, certainly not until the year 2040! One to buy Virginia class subs. One to buy the new SSN-AUKUS subs.

I maintain that Subs are a waste of everything in this day & age. Coastal missile stations every 1000-1500k's would be cheaper, quicker to build, more effective & won't require dangerous/costly/time wasting rescue missions !
A National Service would greatly support Defence activities as the mentality of citizens would be way better than at present !
