If Angus Taylor is ever to be PM and put his mainly-pinched-from-One Nation immigration policy into practice, he will have to deal with the wets who will stab him in the back as they have done to even mildly conservative leaders in the past.

Onesuch is Senator Andrew McLachlan, completely unknown to most South Australians and probably all other Australians.

This person got into the Senate just by being on the Liberal ticket years ago. He has done nothing. Said nothing, until recently when he voiced objection to the term 'mass immigration'.

Now, he has come out in direct opposition to his leader's intent to block NDIS and 17 other welfare payments to non-citizens.

He bleats the usual crap about non-citizens paying taxes etc. They pay taxes because that's the law. It doesn't make them saints.

Anyone who wants to live here permanently, but doesn't want to become a citizen is automatically suspect.

McLachlan told the ABC, that great friend of his party, that he has been in the Liberal Party for too long. That's probably the truest thing that he has said in his miserable career.

Further to the above, Angus Taylor has rejected McLachlan's nonsense that his “rhetoric” discriminates against immigrants. It's a criticism of the Albanese government, not immigrants.

The Senator's misuse of the word ‘rhetoric’ instead of ‘policy’ gives a hint why he hasn't said much in the time he has adorned the Senate.

Taylor agrees that immigration is important to Australia (Australians are not interested in replacing themselves), but the Albanese's ideas and uses of immigration need fixing. It is out of control.

With so many Matt Keane sleepers the Libs will never stand behind conservative voters and values. Whatever Taylor says can get white anted by the turn coats in his party.

spot on Fester. Since that treacherous backstabbing Turnbull infected the party the regressives have undermined this country. You had Morrison to afraid to take on ' cultural' issues despite letting the Premiers kill and maim numerous through clot shots, Dutton having to be dragged kicking and screaming to saying no to racial division in this country and now Taylor promising to legislate to keep perverts out of women's changerooms after the party doing nothing for years. You still have treacherous fools still clinging to the Paris agreement. Very sad for the good men like Canavan and others.

As Taylor and the hard right of the Noalition make their exaggerated claims of "mass migration" in an attempt to racially vilify new Australians, which is nothing more than an attempt to out One Nation, One Nation. Taylor and his hard right cronies from within and from the Cow Cocky Party, hope that by dividing society into a them and us, they will shore up the redneck vote, which is rapidly deserting to the party known for its entrenched racism, One Nation. All this will achieve is another loss of seats for the Noalition, bush seats lost by the Cow Cocky Party to One Nation, and city seats lost by the Conservative mob to Independents and Labor. Its possible that the Greens and independents could pick up a few city seats from an unpopular Labor. As for who will form government after the next election, Labor have a whopping majority now, at worse this could be reduced by a handful of seats. As things stand the best hope for the Noalition is to let the One Nation mob do what they always end up doing, self destruct.
