Change this sentence..."Religious extremism does promote violence, intolerance and hate of others, all in the name of "God"" to....Religious extremism does promote violence, intolerance and hate of others, all in the name of "Allah" and then your post makes sense.

Hi Trumpster,
"Allah," is the Arabic word for God. In Judaism names for God include, Adonai, El-Elyon, El Shaddai, and Shekhinah. BTW, Coptic Chistians, as opposed to Toxic Christians, being Arabic, also refer to God as Allah. The three major Abrahamic faiths are monotheistic religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, all share the same deity as their supreme being, by whatever name that deity is called. Thanks for the theology lesson Paul, but you might guess that it was entirely unnecessary.
Although the three Abrahamic religions purportedly adhere to the same god, reading the books related to those gods (the Torah, the New Testament and the Koran) shows them to be very different entities. My point was that your description of religion most closely resembles Allah and the Muslim faith. Posted by mhaze, Wednesday, 1 April 2026 4:38:12 PM

Hi Trumpster,
Are you an avid reader of the Bible, Torah and Koran? My concern is not the religious text as such, that's open to very broad interpretation, but the influence that religion can have on people when it becomes all controlling, all consuming, and when its allowed to infiltrate the state. I believe society is threatened in many ways by the influence of religious extremism, that includes all three monotheistic religions. You see a danger in extreme Islam, and I agree there is such a danger, but both Christianity and Judaism taken to the extreme are also a danger to society, see that today as well. Should we concentrate on the extreme danger of one and ingnor the other two, or guard against all three? Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 2 April 2026 5:52:02 AM

The main danger for any nation is governance without a separation of powers. Nations like Iran might be run by religious fanatics, but they are also corrupt and mismanaged.
With a separation of powers toxic religions won't deliver another Iran. Posted by Fester, Thursday, 2 April 2026 8:23:46 AM

One doesn't need to be an avid reader of the various religious texts to know what their basic tenets are. Just a bit of research - you should try it some time.
"You see a danger in extreme Islam," No I see a danger from Islam. Currently all forms of Islam are extreme as compared to the other Abrahamic faiths. But the real issue is the separation of church and state. This has been achieved in the west (for the time being) whereas it is anathema to Islam where the church is the state and the state is the church. The concern with extremists within religions in the west is that they lash out in order to achieve their aims. We see that here with Islam but not with other religions. Of course we also see it with other faiths that aren't spiritual in nature such as environmentalism and communism. But that's another story. Posted by mhaze, Thursday, 2 April 2026 8:32:26 AM

If people need Faith, let them have faith however, religion has nothing to do with faith just as Judiciary & Democracy have nothing to do with Justice & Rights.
Keep religion out of schools & off the streets. Power over people is the greatest/worst threat to peace & harmony as power is a large component of stupidity ! The Woke Left is the clearest example of that yet they're incapable of seeing it ! They used to blame the establishment & Tories for being what they themselves are now ! Hi Trumpster,
"Just a bit of research" As you are a sycophantic Trump disciple, I would like to know where you have done your "research". My point is not the content of religious text, ambiguous as it is, having read the Bible, (and the Torah is the first 5 books of the Old Testament, does the Hebrew version align with the Christian version?) but the danger of religious extremism from fanatics, and how best a society like Australia should deal with it. Any suggestions? Hi AC, The Zionist religious extremists are as dangerous as the Islamic kind, can see that in their actions in the West Bank. Fortunately they are not prevalent in Australia, we have the occasional Christian extremist popping their heads up every now and then, shooting coopers etc. Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 2 April 2026 3:43:05 PM

Can anyone explain this;
When the Islamist's murdered 1,200 Jews, it was under the instructions of ALLAH. When the Jew Zealots murdered 70,000 Palestinians, it was sanctioned by JEHOVAH. When Trump murdered 1,500 Iranians, it was with the blessing of GOD. Since ALLAH, JEHOVAH and GOD, are the one and the same all knowing, all powerful, 'Supreme Being', whose side is this 'Supreme Being' really on? The 'Supreme Being' can't be on the side of all three! Is Toxic Religion DANGEROUS? Do I need to ask! Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 2 April 2026 6:46:31 PM

Paul1405,
You really need to learn about the difference of murders committed by Terrorists, the difference of retaliation to murders & the difference of accidental casualties of war during deactivating a terrorist supporting regime. Posted by Indyvidual, Thursday, 2 April 2026 8:00:17 PM

The Christian Ukrainian Orthodox Church severed ties with the Christian Russian Orthodox Church after the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukrainian. As the Russian church gave it blessing to the invasion, obviously with the approval of God. Seems the Ukrainian church also had the blessing of God, but opposite to the Russians. God is on our side, so they both said.
Hi Indy, Your perverted justification for the murder of innocent people doesn't wash with me, its all murder in my eyes. 70,000 dead in Gaza, including over 20,000 children at the hands of the Zionist army, are all "accidental casualties", how perverted are you. I can see how the Nazi's did what they did to the Jews, with people like you around. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, so they say! Should someone decide that regime change is required in Australia, would you like it if yours, maybe grandchildren, become accidental causalities? Hummm. Hi Paul,
I think all of the abrahamic religions have extremist elements. And I don't realistically think it's possible have these religions without the extremist elements. There always going to be people that try to live in accordance to religious doctrine, word for word. And it's not just about when people are attacked or killed as a result of religious beliefs; physical harm - it's about conflict itself. Like, if one bloke punched another bloke, the conflict didn't necessarily start with the punch, but the argument and animosity (conflict) that lead up to it. Hi mhaze, >>The death penalty is for Palestinians convicted in military courts of deadly attacks. Boo Israel! Palestinian authority introduced death penalty for selling land to Jews. Nothing to see here...move along<< So in the name of fairness, would you be ok with Palestinians detaining Israelis involved in deadly attacks, imprisoning them, letting them be subjected to Palestinian (Hamas Al Qassam) military courts or Palestinian Authority and if found guilty be sentenced to death. Also, are the Palestinians allowed to torture the Israelis and their children? Are they permitted to torture the accused kids, burning then with cigarettes and putting nails into toddlers legs in an attempt to coerce a false confession? (probably not false) And then they can hang the Jews? Ben G'vir's been wearing a hangman's noose lapel pin for quite a while. The messianic right are another step to the right from the far-right. - And they are no less crazy as ISIS beheading people and driving around in Toyota utes with women in cages. http://www.msn.com/en-in/news/world/cigarette-burns-nail-in-leg-israeli-troops-accused-of-torturing-gaza-toddler-to-extract-father-s-confession/ar-AA1Zndhu?ocid=socialshare Posted by Armchair Critic, Friday, 3 April 2026 7:58:46 AM

Oh mhaze, almost forgot.
Here's an article for you. Ben-Gurion in 1951: Only Death Penalty Will Deter Jews From Gratuitous Killing of Arabs http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2016-04-01/ty-article/.premium/ben-gurion-only-death-penalty-will-stop-soldiers-from-murdering-arabs/0000017f-f98c-d880-a7ff-ff8c6f7b0000 'Until a Jewish soldier is hanged for murdering Arabs, these acts of murder won’t end,' Israel’s first prime minister told his stunned cabinet 66 years ago, when Jewish murders of Arabs had become all too common. 'Move along nothing to see here'? Yes, we know, the world looks away and plays 'charter boat' on the decades of atrocities inflicted there. Terrorists they say. Hypothetically, if Iran fired a missile into the Golden Gate Bridge would that be a terrorist attack or a fair and legitimate response? Major carnage, news choppers on scene. Why is the West blowing up schools, universities, police stations, hospitals, oil refineries, power plants, bridges and government buildings? I think these actions outdo any terrorist attack. Did the Bondi terrorists blow up a whole fecking hospital? In the West we call it a terrorist attack / antisemitic hate crime if a couple of empty Jewish Ambulances or a synagogue door are set on fire. Then we blow up hospitals full of doctors nurses and sick and injured or schools full of kids, teachers and parents and we call ourselves liberators. We call them bad and ourselves good, it's a bit twisted. Iran’s highest bridge linking Tehran to Karaj is struck in a joint US-Israeli strike http://youtu.be/hnA7t-CeTac Who are the terrorists? What if someone blew up the Harbour bridge, Westgate bridge or Gateway bridge? 'Sorry they were legitimate military targets' Total bs. The 'Roman' principle is also partly relevant to first nations in Australia.
However, back to the thread. It makes me think about WHY people need religion. What is in our instinctive behaviour which makes some require it? The need to belong to a group perhaps. (safety in numbers) Superstition. Fear. Just what is it? Religion has been a controlling influence in societies for a long time. It behaves somewhat like a government. We need to educate ourselves away from harmful religious ideas. Understand ourselves in far more depth. Many already have. Brave education seems to be the path to logical and calming thought. But religion seems to have such a grip that changes might be difficult to bring about. We can but hope, and of course struggle whilst we hope. Posted by Ipso Fatso, Friday, 3 April 2026 1:01:37 PM

I am not not-religious because I detest religion.
I am this way because I think a religious view is wrong. Everything I understand about myself and the world we all live in gives me a different outlook. My awareness keeps me calm, contained, and able to deal with the world around me. I don't spend time trying to defame religion. Or worrying about a non-existent life after death. But I do sometimes contrast their view with mine. I just hope there will be enough people who think as I do to make a difference. And cause a slow but steady drift away from harmful concepts. We need truthful concepts to build a steady basis for living. Posted by Ipso Fatso, Saturday, 4 April 2026 1:33:19 PM

Hi Ipso Fatso
I occasionally attend church services with my wife, who is a regular at an Anglican church. Recently, we decided to explore a different denomination to see how they approach things, and how the other half live so to speak. We attended a Mormon service, my wife's family have close connections with the Mormon church back in New Zealand, and they are only 2 clicks from home. Not my first visit, we attended one time in Sydney with a niece and nephew for a greeting for a visiting American Bishop. He didn't think much of me wearing a Manaia around my neck, he asked what was it for, I said; "To ward off evil sprites", me thinks he wasn't impressed, the niece did tell me to tuck the Manaia into my shirt, I didn't take her advice. At the recent Mormon service, about 100 share holders in attendance. I came away with a very distinct impression—though no one said it outright—that Heaven operates like a corporation: God as Chairman of the Board, Jesus as CEO. The men, dressed in dark slacks, white shirts, and ties, looked more like middle management heading into the office than parishioners attending worship, the women were the office girls, and tea ladies. The whole experience felt like an extension of American corporate culture. I stood out in my loud Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and sandals. The reception was noticeably cool, as if my casual appearance signalled that I wasn’t taking things seriously. The overall atmosphere was a bit of a turn-off for us, as my wife is a very social person. A quick exit, and back home. Posted by Paul1405, Saturday, 4 April 2026 9:49:10 PM

"I stood out in my loud Hawaiian shirt, shorts, and sandals."
So you go to a place with your body language saying "I have zero respect for your beliefs and customs.", then wonder why their body language says "Why are you here?"? Perhaps a couple of useful secular takeaways from the Judaeo-Christian religions are the concept of human fallibility and the value of treating others as you would have them treat you. Hi Fester,
One of the problems with religions is their intolerance of those who are different to themselves, those who question and debate the word of the Lord. Should Jesus himself turn up to a Mormon Temple dressed in a rough well worn woollen tunic, sandals on the feet, about 5' 6" tall, close cropped curly black hair, thick set and of dark complication, with a broad nose, somewhat unwashed by our standards, (the real Jesus, not the European stylised Jesus, many Christians like to portray), would he also be saying; "I have zero respect for your beliefs and customs.", then wonder why their body language says "Why are you here?"....Leaving them to their own devices, waiting for the Messiah to turn up in his three piece business suit. October 7th 2023 seen the murder of 1200 innocent Israelis, that was not the beginning of what has been an ongoing war between Arab and Jew. Nor is the atrocity committed on that date justification for the murder of 70,000 innocent Palestinians by the Zionist regime. You seem to think because Hamas did what they did, it justifies the slaughter of Palestinians by the Zionists have carried out. A question for you. Were the Zionists justified in killing 70,000 Palestinians, and why? Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 6 April 2026 10:14:46 AM

Hi Paul,
I think you've related a feature more of human beings. I can remember as a child being castigated by my grandmother for not having shoes at a shopping mall (I might have been eight and didn't wear shoes much at that age). My GM was well read, atheist, and regularly pointed out the many contradictions in the Bible. Indy gives a good example of toxic religion, with that woman willing to be a suicide bomber and holding the belief that murdering Jews was her ticket to paradise. I agree with you that much of religion is silly, but surely the toxicity comes from advocating harm to others and discouraging questions? I must admit to being unaware of the existence of Mormon terrorist organisations. Posted by Fester, Monday, 6 April 2026 11:20:27 AM

None of us are born with the same 'mindset'.
And being different means we respond differently to changes taking place around us. Some are unable to deal with life as it is, and retire in to a fictional world. Is this because their life is based on lies? Their approach to life avoids truth? I think this is so, and leads them in to an imaginary existence instead. They then behave according to the fictional ideas they have embraced. And sometimes this means harming others, who are seen as an enemy. And all because they live without truth. I feel sorry for them. They didn't have a chance to be normal. This doesn't mean they shouldn't be stopped. Harm is harm, no matter what they see as a reason. And I see no excuse for being habitually destructive. I still think failing to face the truth around them is why these deviates behave as they do. And this is compounded by the lies they are told when young. Truth in education is the key to better living for all. And the avoidance of religious indoctrination and radicalisation. Posted by Ipso Fatso, Monday, 6 April 2026 9:33:43 PM

Hi Fester,
There are threats to both society and individuals arising from extreme religious fundamentalism, when adherents become radicalised by the religion through a demand for unquestioning obedience from its leadership. This loyalty demand coupled with radicalised dogma, and the control of adherents actions by those in authority, often claiming to be the spokesperson of god, or even god himself, can have disastrous effects for not only people outside the religion, but those indoctrinated within, generally refereed to as a cult following. We have had many examples of the disasters of a cult following in Australia and over seas. Its my opinion that under certain circumstances religion is a very dangerous weapon. Fortunately for them and us, the vast majority of religious adherents obtain some positive good from their devotion, and often society does as well, as religious are known for their "good works", all in all it mostly has a benign effect on society causing no great harm. BUT on the fringes of religion there are very dangerous operatives, with crazed ideas, and hateful intentions towards others. Posted by Paul1405, Monday, 6 April 2026 10:19:28 PM

Were the Zionists justified in killing 70,000 Palestinians, and why?
Paul1405, Is Hezbollah justified in the killings they carried out thus far ? My personal stance is that killing people is not justified when it is not self-defence or prevention of evil action looming. Posted by Indyvidual, Tuesday, 7 April 2026 7:45:40 AM

Hi Indy,
"evil action looming" is that your get out for the mass murder of 70,000 innocent people. That would justify Hitler's extermination of six million Jews, they were "evil action looming", particularly the children. "Hitler framed the systematic murder of six million Jews as an existential necessity for the survival of the German "Aryan" race." Maybe the Zionists are now framing the extermination of the Palestinians as an existential necessity for the survival of the Jewish "Aryan" race." Sounds like something you might agree with. Paul has fallen in love with his erroneous claim that 70000 INNOCENT Gazans were killed in the recent war.
Not that facts are the slightest concern for Paul, but we really ought to point out that: 1. The figure is from the Hamas propaganda service and is unverified. 2. At least, AT LEAST, half of all the deaths were Hamas soldiers and therefore definitionally not innocent. OK now you can go back to your usual fictitious assertions. Hi Trumpster,
The figure of 70,000 has been verified by a number of independent sources. Okay just to appease YOU we'll make the number 50,000, jolly good, nothing to see here. BTW if the 70,000 figure is dodgy, then why are you claiming half (that's 35,000, you don't need to use a calculator I've done the maths for you) were Hamas fighters, that figure would also be dodgy, a neat 50% according to you. In the Unholy Church of Trump, what is your position? Are you a Trump Acolygte, a gofer no less! Did you read Trumps lunatic post on Truth Social, your master is definitely unhinged! About a week ago, "At least 175 people, including approximately 110 school children, were killed in a missile strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school in Minab, southern Iran. The attack occurred on February 28, 2026, during the opening hours of a joint U.S.-Israeli military operation against Iran." In the BBC quote, there is no maybe, possibly, could have, its reported as FACT. Americans have a long history of committing war crimes, stating with the slave owning grub George Washington massacring Indians, to Crazy Trump massacring Iranians. "The Sullivan Expedition (1779): As Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, Washington ordered General John Sullivan to conduct a "total war" campaign against the Iroquois massacring whole villages and encampments." You gotta hand it to the guy for doubling down on stupid. When Trump says things mhaze probably believes those things. I'm sure he thinks the recent loss of U.S. aircraft were all friendly fire incidents. Trump SAID: We destroyed Iranian air defence, and to mhaze that orange clowns word is like gospel. Trump would spend all week designing his new Louis XIV gold toilet, but he doesn't waste his time getting the inside info on things like wars and military intervention, too many small details. Just repeat "The U.S. is the most powerful military in the world Donald, and you'll be fine" Posted by Armchair Critic, Thursday, 9 April 2026 6:37:16 AM

"No I'm not quoting any mullahs, I'm quoting the BBC"
Same thing. "JOHN DAYSH, if you are still around, can you please come in and give the Trumpster (mhaze) one of your regular belting's. I'm sick of hitting him for six, its getting boring." JD exited stage left after suffering too many smacks behind the ear. Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for the comedic value of the website, you are incapable of recognising it when you get smacked around. AC, like Paul, spends a lot of time pontificating on what I "probably" think since when he sees what I ACTUALLY think, he's at a loss as to how to deal with it. Hi War Supporting Trumpster,
"No I'm not quoting any mullahs, I'm quoting the BBC" (Paul) "Same thing." (Trumster) "Based on available information, there is no evidence or public record indicating that the BBC employs mullahs (Islamic religious scholars or clerics) as part of its staff." Please provide evidence Mullahs are employed by the BBC. However, there is independent verification that America targeted the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school in Minab, southern Iran. Killing 175 people, including 110 children. The deliberate targeting of civilians is a WAR CRIME. Deliberately putting 110 children in a gas chamber, and gassing them to death is a WAR CRIME. Deliberately firing a rocket at a school, and killing 110 children, is a WAR CRIME. I see that the Zionist Nazi's are deliberately killing civilians in Beirut, a WAR CRIME Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 9 April 2026 4:27:43 PM

Hi Delusional Trumpster,
If you can show a direct quote from a Mullah re; that America targeted the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school in Minab, southern Iran. Killing 175 people, including 110 children, then I'll give it no validity. BTW, Do you support Mad Donald's veiled treat to wipe out 93 million Iranians with atomic weapons? If he succeeds it will make Hitler look like a rank amateur in the annihilation game. "The UN chief and the Pope have condemned US President Donald Trump's threat that "a whole civilisation will die tonight" unless Iran agrees to a deal to end the war, and unblock the Strait of Hormuz." BBC (No Mullahs were used in this article.) Trumpster, how was your folk hero planning to wipe out 93 million innocent men, women and children? "a whole civilisation will die tonight" Donald J Trump. Obvious that could only be achieved by the use of a massive number of atomic weapons. Agree? Posted by Paul1405, Thursday, 9 April 2026 7:33:45 PM

Well he didn't say he was going to wipe out the nation. Nor did he say he was going to use nukes. That's all in your wide, childlike imagination....not that you'll understand that.
But since he's now decided to not do it, I guess you're completely on board with the Trump agenda! But its pretty funny that you now are supporting the Vatican. No ethics from Paul, just the usual amorality of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'. Posted by mhaze, Friday, 10 April 2026 7:41:43 AM

I notice Epstein's mate Dawkins is travelling to Australia this year. Probably like most of the god deniers' high priests hoping people won't question their integrity. He also pushed the deadly clot shot showing what a scientific illiterate he became. Good at Political science and that's about all.

Hi Atheistic Trumpster,
Nothing wrong with good old Leo over there in Vat City. We don't see eye to eye on dress style, me thinks out with the white rob and skull cap and in with something in a little pink ensemble number, catch the eye. Possibly a bright yellow mankini be more to the liking, and he'd be noticed, even get on telly. Otherwise he's a cool dude. "I guess you're completely on board with the Trump agenda!" What AGENDA! He hasn't got an AGENDA! Its the Mad Hatters Tea Party Posted by Paul1405, Friday, 10 April 2026 4:27:27 PM

A settler on Israeli TV claims the Torah gives them permission to erase anyone who isn't obedient to Israel. "The land must be emptied of every Arab who refuses to kneel to us." Not a fringe view. This is mainstream Israeli ideology, the religious justification for Genocide [Grok: The X post shares a video from Israeli Channel 14 interviewing a religious settler who advocates expelling non-Jews who oppose Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, citing Torah mandates for dispossession and full control. The speaker states there can be "no single gentile here who opposes the People of Israel on this land," aligning with calls for Greater Israel but using stronger language than the post's paraphrase about Arabs refusing to "kneel." This represents hardline views common in some religious Zionist settler circles featured on right-wing Israeli media, rather than official government policy or consensus opinion across Israeli society.] Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 14 April 2026 6:04:23 AM

Do religions believe in freedom of religion?
http://x.com/TheSaviour/status/2044532501746475424 Israeli Rabbi Yisrael Ariel: "We will conquer Iraq, Turkey... we will get to Iran, too. We will impose the 7 Noahide Laws on all of these places. "This is a task of the Messiah—to bring the entire world to the 7 Laws. It is not a matter for court hearings; it is something to carry out through war!" "From now on, there is no more Christianity, no more Islam; the mosques and the Christian spires come down." Grok: >>The X post shares a 2015 video of Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem, declaring plans for conquest of Iraq, Turkey, and Iran to impose the seven Noahide Laws globally as the Messiah's task, to be achieved through war rather than courts. Ariel specifies the elimination of Christianity and Islam, stating mosques and Christian spires must come down, with the seven laws—prohibitions on idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, sexual immorality, eating live animals, and requirement for just courts—becoming mandatory for non-Jews." Hi AC,
Thanks for the X link, this Rabbi Ariel is as dangerous as any radical Muslim cleric can be. How many of the 120,000 Jews in Australia follow this bloke and others like him. There are extremist Christian in Australia with radical beliefs, all based on the "coming end of day". I had such a person approach us in the shopping centre not long ago. At first its the "friendly approach", with a disarming; "Good morning, God bless you my friend (smile)". It didn't take long before this person was waffling on about, "judgement day is at hand, the Messiah is with us now". This pair wanted us all to pray for our salvation, and have us repent for our sins, there and then." Wanted us to come to their "Church" 10km away. Under the Constitution freedom of religion is an absolute right of all Australians, but should that right include the promotion of bigotry and hate, often by an extreme minority within the religion, and as that occurs how should society/government deal with it.
