We know what their reaction would be if Bill Smith said it; but how about a bloke with an Arab name. They would say nothing, like they say nothing when thousands of immigrants, having fitted in and got on with their lives in Australia for many years, are also sharing the disquiet that a majority of citizens feel about mass immigration, used for covering up our government-caused dud economy.
Twenty three year old Jordan (not some old fart either) refers to the effects of mass immigration and climbing temporary visas on “our fraying society”. He clearly is part of Australian society, not one of the anti-Australian nutjobs on Sydney Harbour Bridge; the sort the Australian left identifies with, and wants more of to help them turn Australia into some Socialist hell-hole.
This young man points out that there are almost 3 million temporary visa holders in Australia, all needing “homes, hospitals, schools and childcare”.
He points out that despite lies about “skilled” migration, most of these people are not skilled at all, or their qualifications are not recognised in Australia.
The “lazy dependence” on international students compromises the university experience, according to Jordan. Students who can't speak English, stuck in their insular communities. Students who come here for the Australian experience find it resembles their own countries. The ones who stay here cannot hope to integrate because of the numbers: national habits/values are “torn up”.
Young Australians are not just competing with locals for jobs, a place to live, and the good things of life: they are competing with “the world”. And, as young Jordan says, mass immigration “puts young Australians last” - and it is “endorsed by both major parties.
Sorry. No references for cranks to shoot the messenger.
