According to PsyPost some men may downplay climate change risks to avoid appearing feminine.

The researcher involved "found a negative relationship between masculinity concerns and climate engagement."

"Men who scored higher on masculinity stress expressed significantly less concern about climate change."

" If environmentalism is perceived as an act of caring and compassion, it may continue to alienate men who are anxious about their gender status."

"The current data indicates that for many men, the desire to be seen as a “real man” conflicts with the desire to save the planet."

Who else finds nothing surprising about this research conclusions?

If environmentalism is perceived as an act of caring and compassion,
WTF?-Not Again,
It isn't ! Bandwagon mentality is not what masculinity engages in, it only brushes the nonsense aside !
Real men care about their families & the society they live in & work to be part of. The issue you're talking about is the fantasy land opportunists among the intellectual elite & those who think they're part of it but never will be but they still vote Labor !
They have in fact no comprehension what caring & compassion entails !

Yes, I read a while back that some men threw all their rubbish into the landfill bin when in public out of fear of being perceived as gay if they put recyclables into the recycling bin.

The results of this study should be utterly unsurprising to pretty much everyone now.

One need only scan a comments section, for any news article on Facebook with so much as a passing mention of the weather, to notice a predictable pattern. The friendly reminders that it gets hot in summer, or that the climate’s always changing, are overwhelmingly coming from people who:

- are mostly male
- have a profile pic of a 4WD / muscle car / the Australian flag
- or are one of these guys:

But it’s not just recycling. There would probably be more support for solar panels and wind turbines if we could somehow get them to bang, burn, and leak.

Whatever lets us blokes grunt and scratch our balls at the mere thought of them.

John Daysh,
You & your fixation with unsustainable energy. You could probably run several 200Kva generators for years before they emit the same pollution as is produced by the manufacture of just on wind generator ! Not to mention the land degradation !
It seems you've backed the wrong horse & now you're panicking about your investment in this futile experiment.
I think wind generators & solar are ok for selected situations but we need to plan for sustainability on a massive scale & I'm afraid there's not enough land & no way of disposing of so much infrastructure plus the atmosphere won't handle the emission. Small nuke plants are the go until the population declines again.

Oh, the climate change crowd are trying to convince themselves its better to be manly than right.

But what happens to self-esteem when you're neither?
